I've farmed both Piety and 66-68 maps. Piety runs are about as hard as them if you don't roll mods that are hurting. Some map bosses are hard, though (for me I dislike Brutus from Dungeon map). Very easy maps IMO are for example Dried Lake, Tropical Island and Grotto.
Though some of the new monsters are terrible if you get them in maps. Devourers always spawn in big packs and hurt like shit... Those quill-exploders are hurting a lot too if you kill multiple of them!
Drop-wise I prefer Piety runs (even though I'm currently not doing them). She always drops like 5-10 rares for me and sometimes maps/uniques (plus you find stuff on the way). She drops a lot better than map bosses.
EDIT: It's totally cool to be able to facetank Piety without risk of dying, btw.  Even her Ice form is tankable for me (with Granites)!

Well, Vaal is easy as range and only risky as melee if you screw up or desync. Or I suppose if you can't sustain the incedental damage taken from adds/rocks but thats not that much.
I *think* I should be OK on piety but I worry about running out of Granite/Jade charges. I guess I should just man up and try it. Scrubcore FTW (okay domination but w/e).
PS: I considered trying to kill Kole once when I had an armor shrine up. Armor shrine + jade of reflexes + Granite of Iron was around 35-40K armor I believe. He hit me for more than half my 3K hp. I guess I need a skelly or decoy totem to kill him. Not that it matters.

Looking for some feedback on my 2H Mace Marauder build. I'm currently using heavy strike/leap slam with added melee damage and lifeleech and so far it's working pretty well in A2 merci. I'm dieing more than I'd like, but I think that is mostly gear dependent as my life and resists are fairly low.
Here's where I'm at now: current passives
Right now I'm considering either moving toward adding stun nodes and going with replacing heavy strike with ground slam, or moving toward the templar life nodes, and dropping my little excursion toward Butchery:planned passives

Just found Death's Oath from Pier map boss. :O never seen that before... Seems like a great item for CI? Though no ES... I'd totally use it myself but i'd probably insta rip to the chaos dmg, lol.
EDIT: I'm using Leap Slam + Heavy Strike with 2h Mace, too. Works really well and is very fast. This is my buiild so far:

Next I'll get is the Life nodes cluster. Also you need Slow, hard hitting Weapons. Karui Maul is the best endgame weapon type I believe. You will have some survivability problems at times, but once you get Cast on damage taken + Enduring Cry + Molten Shell you're a monster... (I also use Warlord's mask, helps leeching a LOT)
EDIT2: Forgot to pick Unwavering in the build I linked, have that too. Iron Reflexes, while super nice, I felt is too far away and I'm personally not using Grace. (Hatred + Determination)

Might want to invest a couple of extra points for Master of the arena and/or Iron Reflexes (since you already got unwavering stance)
overall it looks pretty solid i'd say, but i'm not what you'd call a pro at poe

Holy's build looks much more refined (although it has a lot more points too).
Also I think I told you I'd give you some gear then I forgot. Remind me if you see me on, I have some fairly decent stuff. If nothing else, a 4-link or two so that you can run added fire with your attacks.
PS: I wish there was an easy way to roll no regen on maps. That mod is literally 30% free quantity for my char.

Those Cascade boots sound delicious. Would love to buy one on Nem! Frankly just need MF..can't find anything after like 25+ City of Sarn runs.

66-67s are pretty easy, but I think Piety killing is better for loot. Maps are better when you want to start moving up to 68s and beyond.

Are you aiming to do the piety kill before your CI switch for the 2 skill points?
I think I should be fine on piety tbh but I'm still kinda afraid. LMK if you wanna try killing her today (I'm still at work for almost 2 hours).

I'm killing her atm; going to start farming her I think. I have 128 rarity which isn't too shabby
She's kind of hard actually; died once to her lightning

If I play this through Steam and get a No Connection because it goes down for updating or whatever is my character fucked? I don't really want to have to redownload the client but I would if that were the case.

Your char isn't saved on the steam servers if thats what you're asking.

So if steam servers go down and I'm on a hardcore character it won't desync/disconnect me to pretty much auto-die? (main concern)

Im sure your gameplay will be fine, only achievements (steam side, because they are also in PoE) will be disabled.
