It's a damn shame What level are you to say that there are not enough maps where the combos from the enemy will make you cry? Maybe you didn't get to endgame which is maps at all? Your argument is moot. Some enemies are challenging (more precisely force a particular response) while you can just roll over any foe in the ledge because they are so slow. Now imagined if all archers had puncture ? Or all the zombies had a way to grapple you ? That would be challenging. It's not a matter of how many endgame maps I did (I did none) because endgame maps aren't the reason people will play. That's just a solution (a neat one) to keep people playing once they reach a certain level. But hardcore is based on the thrill you get from the difficulty and the risks, when there is no risk, there is no fun. Just the fact that some maps are way too easy will make people like me stop playing the game after a few re-roll because I don't to stand in the same areas all the time.
PS : Yes I'm only talking about hardcore because I have no personal reasons to play softcore. It's just pointless to me.

I don't find high level hardcore to be enjoyable at all. You have to be super careful all the time and play in the most boring way, usually in a big group where you faceroll content. Racing is the true appeal of PoE. Short races are so much fun and you always get to push the limit.
I wish there was a "midcore" ladder for long term play. If you die, you lose 20% xp, and your character is unplayable for 12-60h, and your items could lose Quality. No porting back to finish bosses or maps, but you can still afford to play in a way that will get you killed once per ~500 maps.

Found a white thicket bow that was 3l+2l, rolled the dice with a fusing and got a 5l! Sold it for 4 chaos + 2 alchs but no idea if i should have held out for more.
|
So, basically, you used 1 alch on a 1/150 shot, you got lucky, and you sold it for 10 alch. Not very good odds =)
@Echelon, I hope so, but custom leagues makes it hard to play with friends unless you started the characters together. Besides, being moved to the midcore league might encourage HC players to actually keep playing a character, instead of joining a league where builds are all about farming and people died 50 times getting there.

you lost a lot of potential currency giving up a 5L Thicket for 4 Chaos + 2 Alch

Why do you reroll, to play the "campaign" with different characters? I don't see how maps are not a reason why people play other than playing to pass the campaign... which is not wrong at all and if you don't believe it's hard to some people... I don't know what you expect from the game if endgame is not for you, but too easy main game is not for you either.

Are there any HC players that would be willing to kill cruel piety for me ? . . will pay of course, would prefer a TLer to do it rather than some random for obvious reasons haha. .
I think my character is strong but my cold resist is way to low and i dont want to risk getting ice arrowed, hard to switch out pieces right now as well.

Eh, city as in first town? . . im overcapped light/fire because its my main dmg elements.
I have 2000life 4k armor .. my elemental hit does 1.6kdps and my light arrow with GMP is quite strong.
I'm fairly certain i can do act 1 merciless without dying, or I can even swap out for a 60% cold res ring that doesnt add much.
Uncertainty is a pain, I lose alot of hp if i swap to a cold res ring over my current ones, along with dps and other resists. Piety is one thing skeletons in the ledge are something totally different
And id totally pay an exalt for a 5L thicket, if not more, assuming the ilvl was worth it
Got a steal of a deal .. 5link chest for 1exalt flat, even dual resist hp
|
Yep, figured I missed out. I find it so hard to price check things on the fly with this currency system. Takes some getting used to i guess. It was 61 ilevel.
|
Its still 5L so valuable but 64 is the breakpoint for higher elemental mods so it might have been trouble selling.. prob still exalt though

How much accuracy rating is good on an item to sell? I dont know if +200 something accuracy rating is good because I just play a witch spellcaster.

A group of my buddies and I have been working on a site which will convert a inputted value of currencies and outputs it as single currency value. A reason why we thought this would be a good idea is because during trades either on forums, or even in game we have noticed a issue where people get offered a huge amount of currencies and can't tell if that offer is higher than the previous. With this tool, you will be able to input the value of the offer, and you can see how much it is worth in, Exalted Orbs values, GCP value or even in a Chaos Orb value. We will be monitoring the marketplace values on currencies daily and try out best in updating the value of each currency to make it as accurate as possible. This was made for the community so we hope that the community will also contribute and help us maintain the correct values on the currencies on the Hardcore League and Default League. You shouldn't really waste them on low level maps. For example, not before level 70-71 maps. And even that might be low-ish.

Any suggestions for a solid build for Hardcore? I played the game a bit in beta and I'm having trouble keeping my interest in the game. I like it (both it and TL2 are really good) but I feel kind of burned out on iso-ARPGs. Wouldn't mind getting myself back in to one if I can.
