Man City only 1:1, 3 points for Bayern = perfect start ♥

The Manchester teams didn't look as invincible as in the PL today.

City missed a lot of chances today (again). They're so wasteful with their chances -_-

Didn't watch City; I can only hope their form is dipping

heh if they didn't play their starters for the cl match, i can only imagine they'd be playing their reserves team vs leeds in the league cup next tuesday =]

United's group is too easy... its more important to play with full power against Chelsea on Sunday.
They know they'll reach knockout stage in the UCL
|
I also went to Estádio da Luz and I think Benfica could win that game. A draw is good nonetheless, considering the group.

Just as a note for people who are saying that Man Utd used their C team or wathever... :
Manchester United in the final of Champions League, May 2011 vs Barcelona: Van der Sar, Fabio, Ferdinand, Vidic, Evra, Valencia, Carrick, Giggs, Park, Rooney, Hernandez
Manchester United, September 2011 vs Benfica: Lindegaard; Fabio, Smalling, Evans e Evra; Fletcher, Park, Carrick e Ryan Giggs; Valencia e Rooney
Not so different...

Whats your point? only half that squad is the same, plus 5 of the 6 players that were the same have players bought/matured/come through youth that have taken their spot this season. Cleverly, young, jones are all new and first team 1st choice players now, Anderson and nani are now first choice because of improvements to their game.
|
Yea it may be similar to the team that played the CL finals but that team was okish. THe team thats been tearing others to pieces was clearer not on display.. the Cleverly's and Ashley Young's have been huge. Anderson is enjoying a huge resurgernce (or finally emergence based on perspective). I think Ashley young has been a big x factor.
Still though Benfica played well and one of the big things about United is that they have no 1 starting lineup aside form Aside Young and Rooney who have been X factors most of their roster is on equal footing so well played Benfica. United dont have much of an excuse.
And seriously what the fuck is Evans doing starting any match. Hes slow his reading of the game is mediocrish. Hes not even that big. Dono how he gets so many games. Id Pick Jones over him any day.

I'm assuming that Evans is getting alot of flak for his failure to mark Cardozo on that goal, but I'm not sure how much he was at fault. Judging from the highlights I have seen (so I don't know much about his performance in the rest of the game haha), he was standing just far enough from Cardozo that any closer would have been 'foul proximity' where Cardozo could have sold a flop quite convincingly. At the end of the day, it was simply a brilliant pass and a great finish that Evans could not have done too much to stop.

Evans was covering Cardozo's left foot since it's almost the only foot he uses. He clearly wasn't expecting Cardozo to bring the ball to his right foot because he never does that.

lol. At the ends of Real Madrid champions match an interviewer asks Cristiano Ronaldo why he thinks that all the stadiums whistle him. He answered "Me silban porque soy guapo, rico y un gran futbolista, porque me tienen envidia" (They whistle me because i am handsome, rich and a great player. People are envious of me ).
Ronaldo making friends all over the world xDDD
|
well hes entirely correct though, you'd have to be an idiot or have a perfect life to not envy him
