Romania will take the trophy home, that's for sure. Oh wait, Bosnia owned our ass and we barely tied with Albania. Yup! real terror ..

yes, there are other players on the squad, but the most important players are from bayern. you're not going to win anything this year. it could have been a beautiful summer....

I disagree. The Bayern players will be even more motivated to win a major trophy now.

Yeah Spain are the favorites. I would probably put Holland above Germany now to take 2nd place with germany 3rd favorites, then after that its anyones from France Italy England.

I think this Euro Cup is anyone's game to be honest.
With Puyol out, Spain probably isn't the heavy favourite again to win this cup. Certainly among the biggest favourites, but still.
Germany will suffer from Schweinsteiger probably being quite depressed - as well as Gomez being Gomez (never playing well in important matches (especially for the german national team) and probably even more importantly Klose being slightly injured.

I don't know about the Netherlands. I think it's due time for them to win a big cup again, but Oranje has always been stuffed with sick world class players and yet rarely won big cups in the end. Similar situation to spain, although they picked up their game and have finally started dominating. Maybe we see the dutch as the new dominating force. We'll see. I'll be rooting for them.

I wouldn't be surprised if we see one of the teams noone talked about taking it eventually. Think of Greece 2004 (albeit hopefully with more interesting football). I'm thinking the hosts or maybe even a team like Croatia.

For now, I hold Spain, Germany and France as my favourites to win the up. France has quietly build up arguably the strongest squad of them all, and has zero pressure due to the previous hardcore fails.

I am more pessimistic about the Netherlands for this tournament than for any previous one. We don't have any midfielder that is strong both offensively and defensively. Van Marwijk insists on playing Kuyt, and wants to play both de Jong and van Bommel, Kuyt is hard working but otherwise sub-par and two purely defensive midfielders is just not the Dutch way.

Many of our world class players don't fit together in the same team. Like Van der Vaart and Sneijder, Van Persie and Huntelaar. Sneijder doesn't work well in the system they've been playing I feel, hope Van der Vaart sees more play. There seems to be no way to play a traditional 4-3-3 with the current squad, and I hate this stupid 4-2-3-1 they've been doing. I hope they change it up but Van Marwijk is pretty conservative, so I don't have much hope. I think its going to be ugly and probably pretty bad. No free wins in their group either.

Will see how they do in the friendly against Bayern, but I think Germany should clearly be ranked above Holland.

To be fair it wouldn't be very fair if you could field both Huntelaar and RVP That would be OP to fuck and need a nerf xD Specially the form of them both this season! Like Torres and Villa in the last Euro, was OP as fuck and needed nerf.
I think like you said if you can get your team balanced right, with the right players gelling in a nice standard formation you have no reason you cannot win it. And i 100% agree with you about Kuyt, i tell my Liverpool mate every day that all he is, is an average joe who runs around constantly for 90minutes and sometimes pops up with a goal but is no where near consistant enough to be dubbed a world class player. And to leave out the likes of Huntelaar or any of your young wingers its just silly.

I guess the issue with the dutch team is that its players are so spread out in europe. Barely anyone in the team plays in the Ehrendivisie or at a specific team (think germany -> Bayern) so that they don't have a core team that knows each other's paths and styles well.
Still, their individual skills should be able to get them out of the group quite easily and be ranked among the favorites to take it. I wouldn't be surprised if holland beats germany, especially during the early phases of the cup.

Also totally forgot about France. They definitely built up a very strong team with Domenech finally gone.

I don't know if thats the problem. The current generation has played together in the national team for so long you would think they know eachother a bit by know. Just for giggles a formation like this would be the sickest thing ever:

Stekelenburg
Van Der Wiel - Heitinga - Mathijsen - Schaars
Robben - Van der Vaart - Sneijder - Affelay
Van Persie - Huntelaar

Every game will have 8+ goals and we shall call it kamikaze football.

if football manager is anything to go by, hazard can be the biggest signing of the decade >_>

Don't think falcao or neymar will go anywhere, kagawa I've no idea about.. there was talk of hulk moving some time ago, also sneijder but those are just rumours I guess. Tottenham might lose modric or bale. There'll be a ton of impulse signings after the Euros though, no doubt about that.

Neymar and Falcao ain't leaving this summer. Kagawa may go to utd for 20 mil and Hazard can go for 40 mil and up.

Thought Neymar has done deal with Real? Thought Hazard is out of contract? If not Hazard is leaving, Man Utd Chelsea or City his destination.

Neymar said he is staying at santos till 2014 when he decides. Hazard signed a contract last year with lille to 2015, but will most likely leave this summer.

Hulk will be the biggest signing of this year... I Call a 50M transfer. Followed by Hazard and Bale, with arround 40-45M each. Falcao wont leave atletico unless Chelsea pays like 35M + Torres or something which wont happen. Probably Gaitan from benfica will move to united but for something like 25M, it's not the same league

Neymar has repeatedly said that he doesnt want to leave santos until 2014.
And i dont think he will considering santos is the favorite to win libertadores again and the national championship. He kind of wishes to repeat what pele did in santos.

Utd can't afford Hazard, and really don't need any more players at his position. So even if the club was willing to spend 40 mil, I'd rather do it on quality central midfielders (Kagawa is nice but we need more than one signing in this part of the pitch) as well as defenders.

There is heavy rumours that Neymar has signed a pre-agreed contract to go to Barcelona in the next few years. Hands off Madrid

Spain will not have Puyol and most likely not Villa either (and if he goes he will just come back from a long ass injury time).

IMO Germany is the favourite here.
