I don't know about Pique, Lahm and Alonso. But I think Xavi > Alonso.

I don't think he has played enough to be considered best LB in Europe for this season, sorry.

For me would be this, a 4-1-4-1 formation.
-------------------------------Cech--------------------------------- ---Alves-----T. Silva----------------Kompany-----Cole--- -------------------------------Touré-------------------------------- --Robben-------Messi--------------Xavi---------Ronaldo- ------------------------------Drogba-------------------------------
Bench: RVP, Iniesta, Casillas, Kagawa, Ribery, Chiellini, Maicon
That way you can maximize the crossing of the wingers to the striker (Drogba is the best target in the world imo), and you also have a great attack down the middle. You also have some great defending so you have a more balanced team by including Touré. It is a struggle to pick Messi over Iniesta but it is better to have a more attacking minded midfield element because Xavi is more of a passer and less of a runner. Hardest pick was bench either Kagawa or D. Silva I went for Kagawa because Silva's role is already taken by Iniesta and Kagawa could come on for Messi.

Spanish champions Real Madrid have confirmed that coach Jose Mourinho has penned a new four-year deal with the club.

Nicely done Real! Mourinho stays to try and continue to dominiate, Real + Jose = FORCE!!!
Should just turn that into a 4-2-2-2 SC! -------------Xavi Toure Robben ------------- Ronaldo -----------Messi - Drogba

These types of all-star teams typically turn into ridiculously offensive shit that would never work in a real game.

I'm a believer in having up front pairs who have a good chemistry and I think that Messi and Drogba wouldn't get on very well playing together, imo players like Drogba and RVP and Gomez work better when there is just one of them in that position. Messi would be attacking though, just slightly behind Drog, in my vision for that team

I know it's unlikely, but a free transfer is exactly what Milan would be looking at (being the beggars we are ). Furthermore, with how well Drogba has adapted to Di Matteo's implementation of Italian football fundamentals in Chelsea's play, I can see Drogba performing well in Serie A. i think drogba is still too young for serie A :x
I remember when England was where oldies went to finish their careers @_@ so long ago, early this century... Amazing what money can do!

By the way, you might be right Pandemona, Bale wasn't consistent. Robben, Ribery or David Silva would fit better.

Haha I didn't see this post from you mate, we had exactly the same thought of taking Bale out. It was the biggest mistake I had seen in the team sheet xD. He has all the right skills and physical talent but his decision making and immaturity are what separates him from the elite wingers.

Pique has been mediocre at best this seas. Damn Shakira.

I guess my 11 would be: -------------------------------Cech--------------------------------- ---Lahm---------G.Cahill------------Kompany-----Cole--- ----------------Y.Touré---------------Xabi Alonso-------------- --Robben-----------------Iniesta--------------------Ronaldo- ---------------------------Van Persie------------------------------ Honourable mentions/Bench: Neuer, T.Silva, Alaba, Lampard, Kagawa, Drogba, Falcao.
Will be interesting to see who goes where during silly season. Modric and Hazard are two big guns that are leaving their respective clubs.
Would be cool to see Drogba go back to Marseill, but i guess he's leaving for China and the big bucks. Truly a beastly player whatever he chooses. Glad he got to win the CL once.

this bayern - netherlands game tonight is the most unnecessary game in history of football, seriously.

I mean, I get the reason for this game. But, does it have to be now? Right before Euros & all the players are risking injuries.
|
that's the point. the netherlands have to interrupt their euro preparation in switzerland, the bayern players will arrive late in the german national team pretty late, probably will miss the first test game on saturday, that psychological factor for the bayern players coming back in the same stadium where they failed some days ago and robben won't even play, although he got to go on the place cause of some contract... stupid, just stupid.

For NL there is at least some use since not our whole selection is known yet there are still a few players who have to fight for a spot in the team but yeh it's pretty dumb.

The best XI obviously is: Buffon, Lahm, Th. Silva, Hummels, Mathieu, Busquets, Xavi, Iniesta, C. Ronaldo, Falcao, Messi
The LB position is kinda weird, there's many good LBs at the moment but none is truly world class.
