Only problem is these rankings are pretty meaningful into all UEFA / FIFA competitions, for example the seeds for World Cup to be top seed in your group to avoid playing the others you need to be top 8 in the world. UEFA Euro's you need to be top 3 to have your own group (Minus 1 normally for hosts but this year its 2 hosts so only top 2 had there own groups) | ||

Uruguay got 3rd in the WC, the most influential tournament in the ranking. Uruguay won the America cup last year. Uruguay is nowadays, dominant in America (Argentina, Brazil, Paraguay top8 WC; Chile top16 WC). Uruguay keep getting good results in international friendlys. So, that 3rd spot is totally deserved. Undeserved is Portugal #5; and Denmark and Croatia over Italy and Argentina. | ||
