Yes but they take the piss in the champions league...put out youth teams and stuff, hense they go out in group stages once every 5 years...
Whens last time real madrid and barca had tough draw.................oh yeh last year when they FINALLY met eachother in the semi finals.
Try going back few more years, Chelsea vs Liverpool 5 years out of 6!!!! vs eachother in semi final/quarter final your saying thats "luck" 5 out of 6 years?
Instead of spouting nonsense why not just use common sense?
Since before this champions league for the past 5/6 years all 4 English teams ( manu, chels, ars, pool) have been going through the group stages of the CL to the round of 16. UEFA cannot put the 4 english teams on the same side of the bracket. So it's 3 teams on one side and one on the other or 2 teams per bracket side. Since English teams are (were, lol) strong eventually some had to face each other before the finals. Manu almost always got lucky and avoided english teams while chels and pool go each other.
When's the last time Real Madird and Barca had a tough draw? I could care less about R Madrid but they have been sucking in the CL for 10 years, as for Barca? You decide.
2004/2005 ro16/ro8/ro4/finals Barcelona 4-5 Chelsea R Madrid 1-2 Juventus
2005/2006 ro16/ro8/ro4/finals Chelsea 2-3 Barcelona / Benfica 0-2 Barcelona / Milan 0-1 Barcelona / Arsenal 1-2 Barcelona R Madrid 0-1 Arsenal
2006/2007 ro16/ro8/ro4/finals Barcelona 2-2 Liverpool R Madrid 4-4 Bayern Munich
2007/2008 ro16/ro8/ro4/finals Celtic 2-4 Barcelona / Schalke 0-2 Barcelona/ Barcelona 0-1 Man U Roma 4-2 R Madrid
2008/2009 Lyon 3-6 Barcelona / Barcelona 5-1 Bayern M/ Barcelona 1-1 Chelsea / Barcelona 2-0 Man U R Madrid 0-5 Liverpool
2009/2010 ro16/ro8/ro4/finals Lyon 2-1 R Madrid Stuttgart 1-5 Barcelona / Barcelona 6-3 Arsenal / Barcelona 2-3 Inter
2010/2011 ro16/ro8/ro4/finals Arsenal 3-4 Barcelona / Barca 6-1 Shakhtar/ Barca 3-1 R Madrid/ Barca 3-1 Man U Lyon 1-4 R Madrid /R Madrid 5-0 Tottenham/ R Madrid 1-3 Barca
The only "easy" draw I see for Barca is in 2007/2008 when they Beat Celtic then Schalke and lost to Manu in the Semi FInals.

Your joking right? Seriously joking?
Your basing this on teams that are good now? Liverpool only ever had an average squad in the champions league, nothing compared to chelsea/man utd/arsenal squads back in the day, yet 9/10 they get futher than all 3 of the other clubs mentioned.
Inter were only good in champions league under mourinho (maybe ok in 2000? something when they got to final vs Milan and 0-0 draw put me to sleep)
Bayern Munich have only got good since Robben Ribery signings and gelled a really strong minded team, good at the back and good and pacey going forward (no different to a good solid english team)
Real have never been good in the champions league for 10 years since there last win in 2002? or something or when they beat man utd in semi final or cant remember. But still they have not been good no, but they always get the easy draws.
The hardest draw for Barca in that whole thing was the 2008 1-1 draw with chelsea, all the years before that they didnt have messi and xavi and iniesta were just coming to grips with european football and puyol estabilishing himself. We beat them 5-4 on aggerate in 2004 when they had a very ageing side in Ronaldinho and co and Drogba and Lampard on there own took them out.
UEFA cannot put the 4 english teams on the same side of the bracket. So it's 3 teams on one side and one on the other or 2 teams per bracket side.
Also wtf @ that? Can't put 4 english teams on the same side; no your right that would be a fix.... but its ok for them to put 3 english teams on 1 half and 1 english team on the other? Try 2 on one side 2 on the other...
lol @ the wouldnt want to play Sepp Blatter's FC Basel lmao <3 if they get to the Round of 8 i swear im going to stop watching football
Hey Pandemona you're a brit, maybe u can explain something to me. Is there a widespread inside joke (contradictory terms i know) regarding Stoke City? I keep hearing their name mentioned everywhere (the guardian) in ironic context and i can't figure it out. They seem like a perfectly average EPL team to me.

I live near Stoke, and am I Stoke City fan.
The media don't like the way we play and therefore seek to heap vitriol all over the club.
We are Stoke and we'll play how we want. Bring on Valencia.

The popular joke surrounding them occurred when the pundit Andy Gray said something along the lines of "Messi is great, but he would struggle in a cold night at Stoke". Hence whenever a technically gifted player (but not as physically strong) is discussed, people always ironically make some reference to how they would struggle at Stoke.
Yes! Finally in the Chelsea vs Wigan match Chelsea is up 1-0! Amazing score by Sturridge. Chelsea looks a bit off balance, but it seams that they're ready for Napoli imo.
Pepe is back baby!! I was wondering what's up with him, he seemed so calm and reserved lately. I guess 3-0 score for your team is a good opportunity to release that primal ape anger and double elbow your opponent in the face.
And Schalke has been doing great lately. Huntelaar doing phenomenally this season. Best poacher in the world right now? (Honest question). Great first touch, can play with both feet, good header and just scores if given a half opportunity.
Barça steamrolling. It seems like they are playing vs amateurs. Brazilian teams are way behind European teams. I'm glad this game is going this way because hopefully coaches will realize this style of football of just running doesn't really work against good teams.
It's over, 4-0 for Barcelona, who now become World Champions.. if anyone still had doubts they are the best team in the world I just hope they aren't marred in the future by more injuries like Villa's, so they can go down in history as the best team of all time.

I hope they don't stay dominant for so long. It's beautiful watching barca play, yet it's boring because you always knows who's going to win.
PS: I'm not a santos fan, in fact I was cheering for barca this game.
