Oh well, it's good that we lost to a good Germany today to temper the optimism. Great goals by Germany too. Second and third were a joy to watch.

Sweden hasn't lost to England since 68, but now it happened. Sad moment...

There are never any easy games in it, unlike the WC.

Yeah I think without any injurys the starting eleven would be quite similar skill wise. Both teams have great offensive players, only thing is that Germany has players like Gomez, Reus, Götze or Schürle still on the bench. As far as the defences are concerned, I think both squads are a bit lackluster. I'm not a big fan of players like Mertesacker, Boateng or Aogo (ok Lahm will play left back at the EC). Same goes for the Netherlands. Braafheid is just bad, Matijsen is old and Heitinga isn't anything special either.

I think people underestimate England and Italy, both teams have improved since the world cup and can now compete with the top3. The dutch team might not get back to full strength, however. Van Bommel is too old, and Robben might never fully recover. I don't see them on par with Spain and Germany anymore.

Italy are strong, England are not capable of winning Euros, favourites are Germany at the moment imo but a lot can change in 8 months! Balotelli, Pazzini and G.Rossi is a formidable forward line, not to mention Cassano. Ranocchia improving each game, Balzaretti is great at LB, plenty of candidates for RB, the midfield is terrible though... Marschisio is a hack, the sooner he is dropped the better...

I think the changes that will occur in 2016 where 24 teams will compete and with a round of 16 will diminish some of the competitiveness of the group stages given that 3rd place teams will have a good shot of qualifying for knockout stages as well.
