I don't consider Greece any weaker than sweden or croatia. Greece finished first in their group with croatia 2nd
Greece is really underrated, they are #8 of the FIFA world ranking for a reason. They may not have the big stars or play the best football, but they are unpleasant to play against and hard to beat. I would prefer to have Sweden in the group with Germany. Well in the end you have to beat all the teams anyway to win the cup. I just hope that if we have to play Spain it will be in the finals and not the semis

The rest far below their level with Sneijder very very disappointing which resulted in a few dumb fouls which got him a yellow card. And Braafheid should never be selected again haha.
Oh well, it's good that we lost to a good Germany today to temper the optimism. Great goals by Germany too. Second and third were a joy to watch.
Sneijder wasn't even that bad imo, but this game made painfully clear that people like Braafheid and people like Babel aren't good enough, Strootman was pretty bad too but he is still young.
Germany shouldn't become to confident though because they clearly abused the fact that our left flank basically wasn't there. Well played though I hope this wakes us up and that we'll play better on euro 2012!
I feel the hype around the national team in germany wasn't that intense since 1990, and they didn't even win a title yet.
doesnt really surprise, does it? young players (Müller, Götze, Kroos, Özil...), really sympathic, playing really good ATTACKING football, not something we were used to before 2006, not the old fighting and advancing throuh what seemed like luck football (even though it wasn't)
If there is a weak point, if there is any, in this squad it's the defence, because it won't be the offensive that will disappoint looking forward to 2012 anyway

yeah thats ridiculous, but wouldn't it be easy to circumvent Financial Fairplay anyway the rich oil guy can just sponsor City with 500 million with his company and everything is the same as it was.

As far as I know the UEFA supervises the clubs to stop those kinds of activities, but I am not sure. I don't know if it is even possible to prohibit big sponsoring contracts (due to freedom of contracts).
But thankfully it won't be possible to equalize a clubs loss with the owner's money any more, like it happens since years at Internazionale Milano. Inter makes around 80 million euro loss every season and Moratti equalizes it with his private money.
In the end there will always be ways and means to support the club that you own massively financial wise.

They don't need to do anything to prevent it. The Big Cup is their competition and as such they set the rules, if they want to say that you need to be solvent to enter it there's NOTHING City can do about it.

Mertesacker was never my favourite player, but at least he hardly made any mistakes in his best days. Now he looks very shaky, and I hope Löw leaves him out of the squad for the EuroCup, there are plenty of better german defenders.

For example?
Holger Badstuber, but he is set as left central defender anyways,
Hummels and Boateng are ->currently<- way better, maybe Mertesacker catches himself until EURO 2012.
Mertesacker makes monster mistakes every game, also against Netherlands, but luckily it remained unpunished.
