not in order: Daigo, Poongko OR Infiltration, Wolfkrone OR Latif, Xian, Hsien Chang, Momochi, Mago, Tokido. Nevertheless there'll probably be like 4 upsets, including the 2011 person who we've never heard about lol, but thats just me going for as many top 8's as possible correct. For Marvel, it'll be similar, probably a random phoenix player blows it up. but my guess will be Jwong, Tokido, Viscant, FChamp, Combofiend, Chris G, +2randomphoenix or socal players (Fanatiq, ShadyK, among others come to mind).

LOL Ricky = FGC Yellow? He hasn't won in EVO but he's won so many majors, its a huge stretch to call him FGC Yellow. He had that streak where he won like 3 straight majors on the West Coast late last year. He got 5th in 3rd strike in 2003, 2nd at Evo 2004 and 2006 for CvS2 (both to Kindevu) and another 2nd place in CvS2 in 2007, 3rd in 2008. And of course 2nd place in last years SSF4. But he's won NCR, WCW3, among other majors. I don't really expect him to top 8 at Evo this weekend though, unless he switched to Yun and pulls out some fast technology On July 26 2011 04:45 Mannerheim wrote: Based on recent performances I'd put Latif up there, at least top 5. Also, is gamerbee not going? My MvC3 picks in spoiler (since its off-topic) + Show Spoiler + 1st. Justin 2nd. Tokido 3rd. Freida 4th. Chris G 5th. Combofiend - RyRy 7th. Marn - PR ROG Reasoning: Justin because I want US salty runback and everything, Tokido is my favorite Jap player. If I'm to believe that Freida (Frida?)'s zero is really godlike because that zero knows how to lame it out, I will pick him above Chris G (who will out-clutch 90% of the people he faces). After this, my mind ran a blank, I could've put viscant or Champ, but I feel that Phoenix could get picked off early (just as they could easily carry them early, its a bracket contest risk thingy), Didn't want to put nerdjosh because he seems to choke when it matters, same with floe. Fanatiq, I love, but he seems to still need to prove something. Honestly, I don't know why RyRy is there tho ![]()

And people act like Phoenix is a coinflip, but when a good player uses phoenix like clock champ viscant etc, they fucking BLOW THE FUCK UP out of average players. Also, looking at pool stages for AE, it'll be interesting Jwong has Nerdjosh and Jewelman, the evo online tournament winner who plays honda. That shouldn't be an issue But pool 46 is out the ASS going to be competitive. Lamerboi, PR Rog, Starnab, and Singaporean Fei Long Gackt are all in that group. Just imagining that only 2 people are going to make it out is insane. and we don't even know who 10 of the other players in that group are. Also, Kayopolice, Buktooth, xS A M U R A Ix (maybe have seen him on XBL) and KillerKai in the same group. Evo pool stages are gonna be pretty awesome. I think ppl dropping their mains and switching to the 3 kings is going to be the reason why very few U.S players are going to make top 8, to be honest. Japan (and anyone who sets their Xbox region to Japan) seems too far ahead on that technological advancements with the twins compare to U.S players. They have better twins and Fei's, and anyone who's not playing them are getting in some hella good practices against them. And there's also the fact that switching doesn't guarantee that you'll play better. The U.S players who hadn't switch (Art, Mike Ross, Latif, and WolfKrone) are the ones who's currently doing better. I don't know man. 2+ years of experience's a lot to pass up.

Yalls top 8 picks are way too predictable. Think back to last year, Shizza, Henry Cen, etc. I think Vangeif is way overrated, although he probably could have fantastic success against JP players who don't know he can walking 720 ![]() I think Jakob002 will make top 8 in AE :> He's definitely got the potential, but a mental block thrice the size of idra's when it comes to tilting. I expect Fanatiq to do well in mvc3, guy is pretty beast now that he can use both assist buttons. I don't personally like the guy but he always makes it hype. I'm hoping one of the EC mvc2 monsters can blow it up too, be it Yipes, Arroyo, Demon Hyo (the TL killer), etc. And I'm hoping Ranmasama can make top 16 at least. I'm hyped

Always ticks me off to see them playing in a major winning teams in both events and then see them getting bodied in singles - in both events. DAIGO WHO?

I was scrolling through youtube looking back at old 3s matches, stumped upon this, and was like "....". Standing 720, walking 720, 720 on reaction to punish dash-ins, parry into 720 ON REACTION, you name it, he did it. I mean, for god's sake, he was so godlike at it "720 like Hayao" became an expression lol.

Vangief just walks up to you, no buffering at all, not even a normal. Big difference. Naw Vangief's method is a little different. He just abuses the very long buffer window in SF4. He does 6321+lk4741236+PPP which throws out a crouching LK, then lets him walk forward a little bit and instantly 720. So he does buffer a normal, it's just a while before the actual ultra comes out. I know Desk has another method where he does 6321478963214+lk~PPP where the ~ denotes plinking or kara timing. This has the effect of kara canceling 360k into Ultra on the first frame, effectively granting 7 pre-jump frames instead of Zangief's normal 6 and therefore allowing a standing 720. It's possible to do it without the kara cancel too but even more exacting. I haven't seen anyone put that method to use in a tournament setting though.
