Dracula's riddle is a riddle site made a few years ago. You play a person on the road to Transylvania. To go on this journey you must solve riddle after riddle. The site is extremely long with over 100+ riddles in the first version. I just happened to stumble along this site a few weeks ago and have gotten past the first fifty riddles.
I must admit a lot of them are hard and some (only a few) were only solved through luck alone. I teamed up with a clan member and we've been having tons of fun with this site and I thought I'd share it with you guys.
http://www.draculasriddle.co.uk/index2.html
Like I said I hope TL can get into this and if anyone needs help, I don't want to post answers but I can give clues through PMs and such. Don't hesitate to PM me. I will regularly update this post if I have anything new to add. Enjoy and I hope you don't rip your hair out like I did.
Note: At first I was scared to go through this site because I was afraid of screamers (lol) but I can guarantee there are no screamers. Some of the clues are quite creepy so this is not for the feint of heart (read: pussies ( I am one) ). All of the creepy stuff is done in good taste in my opinion.
Another Note: There is a version 2.0 of Dracula's riddle that is up to date but I am hoping to finish the first one before I attempt the second one.
Damnit another note: It explains how to solve the riddles but for those that are not familiar with the web (again lol) to solve the riddles, you must think of an answer and after that type it into the address bar and add .html at the end.

Zest riddles smashes this to bits. I've done like 6 in 10 minutes

Yeah I would say the first few are very easy. It gets cryptic around 20-25 I'd say. Zest isnt harder than this its about the same.

Lots of fun, are there similar sites out there?

This brings back horrible memories of Torment and blocks ><

Its really hard to read that red blood drippy type text ...

Haha me too, the first one was pretty straight forward but I don't know much about vampires so this is tough. Unless it has nothing to do with vampires in which case I'm a complete retard.

+ Show Spoiler +If you look at the bottom left of the picture you see it says bag.zip backwards. If you enter that into the address bar you can download a file, which gives another clue.

If you check the source of the website there's also a riddle1.mp3. I'm at work so I cant put effort into this. Will try at home :-)

Yeah each riddle has a sound file but I can't get it to play

I've seen this before, can't specifically remember the name of the site however. In my opinion, these are more entertaining with a group of friends. Still a good way to blow a few hours (or more if this is your thing.)
Edit: Seen this type of game, web browser based riddle.

Stuck in Her Cemetery, puzzle 51.
+ Show Spoiler +Source code shows pi/2, which I believe refers to radians, which would mean to rotate it 90%. I still can't make any letters out though, other than the 'E' near the end, or the beginning, depending on how you rotate it. I might be missing something obvious here. It's in aljiba.

Once you connect them together properly the answer is fairly obvious.

You could ruin it if you want :p, i've been here so long I wouldn't mind a huge hint that completely blows this riddle open.

Nope, nope, still don't get it, I feel retarded :[, but I got this far, guess i'm just not good at some levels , wouldn't mind the answer (pmed or on the thread) or a picture of what i'm supposed to see.
Edit: Alright, I figured it out, tricky thing :[ numbered then 1-1 etc.... Now all I have to do is figure out how to read it.
|
I'm not sure whether its just me but just glancing at the general composure of that site makes me want to vomit, reading the little instructions and stuff I just curled my face up and hit the big fat X =P
|
YES! I GOT IT! Had to cut the letters out one by one and I got what I do to frozen turkey. Haha, thanks guys for all your help, now onto the head scratching level of 66.
|
I've been debating putting in a hint section to the OP. I don't know if this would ruin the overall experience for new people coming in. What do you guys think?
We have a lot of people here who are pretty far along. I myself am stuck around the 70's and if I had some clues to the original ones I would have had way more fun.
Should I start a list of hints in the OP?
|
Yeah, sure, but there is a forum page with hints all over it, but for teamliquid members that would really be helpful.
Speaking of helpful, can you help me on level 68? I'm pretty sure it's trying to say something about previous levels, the crucifix and all, the guidance, which is probably some reference to christianity, and the source code which is most likely in latin that I can't translate. God, took me forever to get from 67-68 too, took our group a whole of like 10 asian AP students to figure out what it was finally saying with the inverted stuff. Now we're stumped.
|
wtf; I know the answer to the first one but apparently I'm not typing it in right? (im using google chrome for my browser if that matters)
+ Show Spoiler +darkness.htm and darkness.html just bring up a search page from google and doesnt direct me to a specific site.
wth am i doing wrong?
edt: nvm; figured it out >< I'm not very optimistic about my chances here lol
|
Like I said if you need general hints to each level just go to riddlefanatics and there are plenty of hints by level, and no spoilers. edit->68: I'm sorry but the source code in latin...? You may want to look at it some more.
|
man; this has showed me just how stupid I am... and this makes me sad.
|
Yeah, I got super stupid on 68, it's just..... sdrawkcab
Well, now then... The savior and all that, and yeah, I read all the hints on riddle fanatics before I come to you guys, but DVLXVI gives such better hints >:

this is pretty cool, but its so damn hard....each puzzle seems to have like 3 or 4 steps to it. im too curious about where it all leads to not waste my time here tho lol

I am stuck in the second one, i found the useless words but even though if i try the first letters of each of the remaining ones it's not right. It's not wuw.php or wuw.htm don't know what i am missing here..

Anyone doing number 9?
+ Show Spoiler +I know which are true and which are lies. I know the answer, but I would really like to understand the clues numbered 6 and 9. For clue 6, you take two steps from "c" along the alphabet. It is the half step that I'm confused about. And of course clue 9 has me stumped.

Thanks for posting the site. I have had a lot of fun with it so far. Now I am struggling with number 13. Not even sure where to start really.

hrmm a hint for 13...
been about 20 mins since you posted, i'll just say everything you need is in the picture together with the source clue, no googling neccessary, just a logic puzzle. let me know how you're getting on

71 is annoying me, i'm sure i'm overcomplicating things in my head and just cant get anything after getting to the 2nd picture

Still on 68, the map is hard to find... Heard it was like cv-map or something, but can't find it. Good luck to anyone else stuck.

you should have found the map in an earlier level, do you know what the map shows? if so i can provide the link to the map, its not a new thing, its something you should already 'have'

Question for anyone who's finished 81:

stuck on 74, cant find what's 'missing'...

Anyone have 10? I have no idea what extension would be used.

+ Show Spoiler +thats for a 'decryption tool' right? i'm gonna guess you've tried things like .exe, so should therefore realise its not a standalone program..so it must go in a program you already have...

still stuck on 74 found what's missing, cant make the change, does one of the letters change entirely i take it, i've tried anagrams of the missing word, that are still real words but i still cant get it. the tHe-->otherS are the placements of the capitals important, or just the letters themselves, or both?
|
+ Show Spoiler +I tried adding 1 to each letter numerically so I got: SJFOXCS
B is "2" in the alphabet so I changed it to "3" RIENWCR
Still meaningless to me unless it's an anagram for something I'm not seeing yet. I feel like this is gonna be one of the ones when I solve it i'm gonna feel REAL dumb.
