edit: ended up getting KoA w/o DLC since i really want to try that game
Just ended up reinstalling that and playing some today. Combat is damn fun for the first 5-6 hours, till you realize the last half of the game mostly recycles reskinned guys from the first part of the game that have essentially the same attacks

I want to buy Skyrim but I'm afraid I'll just not use it at all.

I know you can, but I´ve tried it before at a friend's for like a day and the main story doesn´t interest me as well as my GPU isn't up to date (it's comparable to the 560Ti if that tells you anything, not sure if that's enough to run some high quality texture mods etc). I'm not looking for a gigantic timesink, just something I can put a couple hours into and have my fun with, then let go as I play a lot of StarCraft on the side. Skyrim probably comes back at the last day of the sale anyway, right? I don't want to spend too much money and if I haven't spent the money I'm saving by not buying it now, I'll probably buy it the 30th.

Elder Scroll Games are never about the Mainstory. Its always about all the liitle stories and characters.

Its 3.75
thats like a cheap lunch or an expensive sandwhich which is potentially hours and hours of gameplay.

I would get Skyrim without a doubt at that price point, great game and mods can make it better, im pretty sure a 560ti can run skyrim (depending on resolution) at high/max @50fps no problem (thats 1080p, i think you could do 60fps @900p on high settings)

Bought XCOM 2 days ago, already 15H in the solo campaign ! Such an amazing game

Planetary Annihilation is $16.99 and Natural Selection 2 is $3.75 Both very good buys imo

Thoughts on metal gear rising? Would love to play a good hack'n slay with a decent story also thoughts on dragon age origins? Is the story good? The gameplay sounds interesting enough for me to spend money it. But i would love to hear if the story is any good

holy shit, if I knew you were getting the game, my friend and I should've just gotten a 4-pack. Just would've needed to find 1 person to sell the last copy to.

is it just me or the summer adventure is a work of valve RNGG system? teams just take turn to dominate the day with the contributions increase at some random rate. Anyway today is team pink boys, after 3 days of being mediocre

Nothing for me today, although Spelunky is a flash sale right now. If you are into platformers and roguelikes, it's definitely worth a buy. Kinda need a controller for it though.

I played Spelunky with a keyboard and I thought it was pretty much fine. The only problem is that if you don't have a mechanical keyboard then you may have to reassign keys because you won't be able to do a running jump to the right

The main story is actually surprisingly short, so I would say its mostly about the side quests.
I am going to try to be as objective as possible here. In terms of the mods...I've watched 8 or so 1+ hour vids on how to mod skyrim from gopher's youtube channel, and I've looked at all the mods. Almost none of them add any real gameplay, the vast majority are graphical tweaks (textures, meshes, atmospheric lighting) and gameplay tweaks. Some of them add spells. I added the 'apocalypse' spell mod which is one of the most popular, and I have to say its not that impressive.
Secondly, about the game itself. If you've never played skyrim before, I would say that at that price its probably worthwhile because there are a lot of interesting locations in the game with cool stories to unravel. But the sad thing about Bethesda games is that they offer a lot, and it seems like a really amazing, massive open world...but most of the locations you find are just crypts with endless number of nordic zombies, or bandits, or vampires...etc. And there's a big chest at the end. And that is recycled 50 or 60 times until you just feel exhausted.
But a decent number of these areas are interesting and they do have some backstory to them, so overall I think it can be an addictive and entertaining experience. By no means is a deep RPG; but it has a vast collection of simpler mini-quests with minimal backstory, a solid amount of moderately-deep guild-related quests, combined with a short, deeper questline.
The only thing that's tedious is how much you can carry and constantly ferrying your goods around to sell to merchants who hold very little gold. Combined with vampire attacks, if you get the DLC, and it can be somewhat irritating. But its still a minor downside to the overall experience.

Its either rigged, or the Update-Rate is bugged. Its always one team winning by a landslide and the rest are very close. In reality there are always 1-2 teams that dominate, and one team that has no chance.
