GTA / Mercenaries style gameplay in a HUMONGOUS open world, possibly one of the most impressive I've seen to date. Story and anything related (voice acting LOL) are COMPLETE ass but I still pop it in now and then just to dick around and have fun. I have the Xbox version as well, which lacks the mods that the PC version has which can be absolutely hilarious fun.
Also, if you're a completionist, it may be one of the biggest time sinks you'll ever play. When you finish the game literally goes into Completion mode with a percentage tracker and everything, which basically boils down to explore every square yard of the island, more or less.
It's weak in a few areas for sure (just.... don't expect a damn thing from the story) but each other facet on it's own isn't enough to ruin the overall experience imo. The experience and scale of the world is definitely unique and one-of-a-kind.

If you like sandboxy games and enjoy collecting things and don't care too much about repetitive gameplay, you might very well love it.

Highly recommend on grabbing Bioshock if you havn't(1 and 2 for 9.99). Just finished it earlier in the day and thought it was really well done.

It has a pretty big world and playing around with the grappling hook and causing destruction can be a lot of fun, if you just like messing around in open world games this is for you.
There's not much story and the little it has isn't very good, and the gunplay is pretty mediocre. One of the games I dropped after playing a few hours and came back couple months later with a different attitude and ended up loving it.
If you're up for some mindless fun it's good.

i hope TDU2 goes on sale. i just actually torrented hot pursuit to try it out, i mean the driving is fun, but compared to the older NFS games? (my favs - NFSU & NFSU2) it's complete CRAP. there is NO storyline AT ALL, no characters, no rivalries, there are no people just....a car.
i really enjoyed TDU1, i enjoy driving games where i have the whole word to explore, and if i disobey traffic laws the cops come and chase you.

Just Cause 2 is like the outdoords version of Saints Row 3 in terms of its over-the-topness (which is really what both games are all about). If you liked one, you'll probably like the other.

For $12.49 comes with GTA GTA2 GTAIII GTA : Vice City GTA : San Andereas GTAIV GTAIV : Episodes from Liberty City
Yeah I was kind of debating for awhile if I should pick up GTAIV complete and then I see the entire series on sale and you really can't pass that up. Where do you see this package. I can't find it Is it US only or something?
edit: seems to be another thing we can't get in Germany...

I haven't played torchlight yet, is it worth the 3.74 even though torchlight2 is coming out soon?

Everyone vote for Driver San Francisco. That game looks fun and I want to play it. Has anyone played it? K Thanks. :D
Edit: Just Cause 2 is worth the money. It is a fun world to dick around in for a few hours. My favorite things was flying the spy plane to the top of a mountain then spawning a car or motorcycle and trying to survive the ride down. It is also great fun to use your grappling hook to connect two cars together and tow someone down a mountain side.

Play the demo. All 30 or so minutes they allow, I feel like that's a good judge. Hell, it sold me haha. First 5 or 10 minutes I wasn't really into it but I decided to do a "story mission" to see if that changed things. After that I started having a lot more fun and I was sad when the demo ended. Full game is downloading at the moment.
I've had an amazing Steam sale, mostly because I haven't bought much for games in the past year or two and I just got a computer that can play Pc games. I've bought Borderlands GOTY, Alan Wake Complete, Saints Row III, Dead Space II, The Darkness II, The Witcher Extended Edition, F.E.A.R. Complete, and Just Cause II. So far.
Stop spending money David, seriously.

Not sure how Driver San Francisco is. 1 and 2 were some of my favorite games ever on the Playstation, but man were they some of the most frustrating games ever haha. Many controllers around the world were broken because of that game. Driver 3, however, kinda blatantly ripped off GTA and wasn't as good. I voted for San Francisco as well cause I'm kinda interested too.
Also for anyone who likes GTA type games, get Saint Rows the Third!!! I bought it and played co-op with a friend, man that game was amazing. Hilarious and just a simply fun game. I didn't even know what to expect at first, I thought it was just a FPS or something, but man it was fun lol. One thing we really loved was the fact that flying helicopters, jets, or anything like that wasn't difficult at all. Flying helicopters in GTA4 is a real pain, especially when you're trying to kill stuff on the ground and what not. The co-op is a bit laggy at times, such as when your partner is driving and you're the passenger in the car, but if you can tough it out it's worth it. Using Hamachi and playing LAN might fix the problem.
Man it's so nice to have money now to spend on this sale, hah.

NFSU & NFSU2 were amazing, carbon went backwards too)
just checked wiki too, entire different development team worked on hot pursuit (2010) then NFSU/NFSU2/NFSCarbon/ etc etc

i had that original NFS on ps1 as well. have to say that the simplicity of it back then made it so much better than the recent NFS games.

It was a tough choice for me between Driver SF and NFS:HP. In the end I gave it to NFS, mostly because of nostalgia. I've actually never played a single Driver game and I have a lot of good memories with NFS: HP2. I voted for NFS hoping that it would be similar to HP2 over NFSU. I played Underground when it first came out, but other than the ridiculous amounts of customization, I like NFS: HP2 more.

Driver SF is a terrible game. I haven't played the previous ones, but I was always under the impression that they were semi-serious games similar to GTA, but not being able to leave the car. Driver SF is something completely different, it's downright dumb. You're basically a ghost which magical abilities allowing you to take over other drivers etc, the whole concept is ridiculous. The driving mechanics are boring as well and the physics feel completely weird.
I'm willing to bet ANY NFS is worth way more money than Driver SF.
