I have been playing Battlefield 2. Have to prepare for the epicness of 32 vs 32 again! And jets and just awesomeness ^_^

Ya me too I was playing BF2 for awhile but then I got into the alpha and after playing the alpha BF2 just sucks now lol. I'm in the beta so I'm just waiting and playing the crap out of sc2 before bf3 steals all my attention away.

I have been practicing learning BF2 but mainly in my own local server to learn to fly jets, one thing I've learned from doing that and playing single player vs bots is that I can't be Rambo like in BC2, the game play is a lot different and honestly feels more "balanced" (don't like using that term in games that are just for bad ass total "funness" like BF series lol). If you guys want to add me on either of those games (only have BC2 and BF2 so far) be sure too because I'm on like a ton on both right now. I use the same ID as on here and will be doing so in BF3 as well.
Anyone else upgrading there computer for BF3? My computer is about a year and a month or so old and was only 800 for desktop but I'm looking into dumping 1500 more dollars into it so I can run BF3 with some okay visuals here in a few months. I've heard they optimized the game better than BC2 so on that BF blog thing they said it should run on computers capable of BC2 which is nice. I was thinking of just getting a new computer but figured upgradings the better choice.

i'll add you tomorrow on BC2, i don't have BF2 sadly  .. and i've read on reddit that you shouldnt worry too much if you have a quadcore and that your computer is easily able to run BC2, that it will run BF3 quite well (I'm guessing med settings) so i dont think you'll need to dump 1500 dollars into it.. and plus theres the beta coming that you'll can test your computer to see if it runs well or not :D

Just my graphics card. From gtx 260 to gtx 570  . Think my processor/RAM I should be able to play high with some settings maxed is my hope ^_^

This is going to be big fight between cod and bf series and i still dont know what to buy bf3 looks awesome but cod is cod and i still play mw2 . Looks like i end up with both games playing bf3 until cod and after that also skyrim comes out so goodbye my starcraft 2 training

For those who miss BF2, I recommend the Project Reality mod for BF2(best...mod...ever?) and, although I haven't played it myself, the Project Reality mod for ARMA 2.
I have BC2 for the xbox 360, but it just isn't the same as a high powered PC...

Yeah, I upgraded my video card from a hd 5770 to a hd 6870 for this game, based on the speculated system requirements posted on the battlefield 3 blog site. May not be able to run full HD graphics at 60 fps, but atleast I will be able to play it.
I saw that BF2 mod, but I never play it. Is it really that good?

I've headshotted pilots on more than one occasion. Really, really satisfying, especially when the heli is full of people.

Dude agreed. Project Reality wholy fuck lol. I have had some of the most fun in a shooter I have ever had. God one of my favorites off the top of my head is me and my squad getting in a helicopter and its like us + 2 other helicopters and as soon as we get near land there's a bunch of shooting. While landing we hear the gunshots hitting the helicopter seeing some getting awfully close to us then we land and immediately we all ran for cover, guy in front of me gets killed I keep running, a guy to my rightish side gets killed. we make it and just jesus so epic so many epic moments in that mod ^_^.
I may have to install that again because seriously so much epicness in that mod for me

We should all tell a nice story like Blade did, so many crazy moments in these games I bet someone has a gem or two.I think my most awesome BF moment was when I ran out of all ammo except a few rounds in my pistol on Heavy Metal map BC2 and there was a tank who spotted me, I knew I couldn't make it anywhere since i was in a field on the opposite side as A and the guy was shooting at me so I just run towards the tank shooting. Well anyways I end up about five feet from the thing before he finally switches to machine gun and finishes me.
A couple guys in my squad saw my running and shooting a pistol at a tank for quite a far distance all the way almost to the front of it before dying and they just cracked up, felt pretty awesome even though it wasn't getting anything done. Oh and also the other day same map I throw C-4 all over a jeep and drive to B behind AA auto cannon and nobody noticed me so I got a fast knife kill and then blew up the jeep next to the guy shooting our choppers down on the AA gun, that felt good I do admit (nothing like the knife animation, just makes you feel satisfied haha).

On wake island, somewhere in the middle of the left side of the island, I decided to drive a jeep up hill and hit a very low flying helicopter, getting all 6 kills in the process.
One of my top 5 gaming moments for sure,
Oh and from recent hints from a BF3 developers twitter, we can expect the beta this week.

How do you get into the beta when it hits anyways? I just barely pre ordered BF3 Limited Edition from Gamestop and am I getting into beta with like my order number or what? Maybe I fudged by doing in store pickup since technically I'm not charged until I snag the game on the release day and they don't let us in beta? So confused! lol

Well if you pre-ordered off of origin you get it 2 days before the open (open is for everyone regardless of pre-order or not).
So if it is this week that means I should be able to play it within the next couple days if its going to be released on friday or something ^_^

Oh wow so that means everyone and there mother will be in beta, I assumed it was going to be similar to SC2 where we had to be invited but this time you get invited by just entering some piece of critical information showing your actually buying the game. That sounds pretty crazy to just let anyone into the thing but I guess that's because this will be my second beta ever (SC2 being my first). Thanks for filling me in blade your always helpful! :D

PR was a good mod, unless you were new. Community was really not that helpful from what I remember (a few years back so prolly diff now I would hope)
that said, PR was a good mod and was the only one I played other than PoE2 / BG2

Can anyone tell me, is it normal that origin has not yet taken the money from my bank account? Pre ordered 3 weeks ago and they never charged me. I always thought the point of pre orders was so that the games company could secure the money ahead of time?

Depends on if you ordered digital or physical I would assume but I am not that familiar with Origin and how they are starting to do things, being new and all. Just watch your order and if your really worried you should probably email there customer service department. I personally pre-ordered from GameStop for in store pickup so my situation is a lot different but it just seems like they would also wait until you were a couple weeks out (or even a few days) before release.
I know one thing was they wanted people to be able to like download the game client that digital pre-ordered so they could play when it was released but i doubt they'd give them that much grace period before it was time for release (couple days maybe?). Wish I could be more helpful sorry. :/
