Thanks a lot for linking this, the Australian VPN works perfectly (free too, not even the 2$ others were linking) and only took a couple minutes to set up. Steam even shows that there are only about 9 hours remaining until it unlocks. I'm going to wake up, unlock it, go to class and take my test, and the it's SKYRIM TIME!!! You US people who are complaining should really do it too if you can't wait Especially east coasters. Friday should be off for people too, so no excuse not to unlock it early!
I'm gonna go for a really long run so that I can actually knock out tonight >.<
Edit for people who are having trouble: no idea if this will help because I just started using it too, but for me it installed with no other indication. First I clicked on the .exe that came with the download which created a folder on my desktop. I may have just chosen to install on the desktop or smth haha. Anyway, the folder had another .exe file which I used to run the program. It starts in the tray I do believe, after a little splash screen.

Anyone else plan on buying a shitton of weed specifically for this game?
|
EB games just text messaged me... Apparently due to some release date breaks by stores over east they've started to sell them. Too bad i preordered the PC version so i have to wait for steam anyway . Just a heads up for those who want to get it on console early in Australia though.

All stocked up and took Friday off :-P.
By the way, the VPN that that guy linked works perfectly, is free, and is easy to set up. Steam showing that it unlocks 9 hours from now. If you have any interest in playing it tomorrow, you should use it!

preloading on steam as we speak, omg I can't wait! Im also building a brand new computer next week omgggggggggg yeah!!

People are going crazy over the steam rip, ugh. Can't find anything new about Skyrim anymore
|
fuuuu, maybe they'll release the Aussie steam early (and hence all you lovely vpning Tlers) because of the store leaks?
If not ... 8 hours to go
Bit more substance and slightly off topic, this is becoming a habit with Australian Retailers, three pretty massive titles have been released early by retailers in the past month (Batman AC, BF3 and now Skyrim). There has to be some sort of consequence to all this, but retailers obviously aren't scared of it.

I used that vpn and all i see in my store home is some flower shop ad lol and i can't check to see if the unlock time changed for me >_< here's to hoping.

can't wait, can't wait, can't wait. Although my sc2 skills will deteriorate as a result of this game, I'm excited for this game.

Installing on steam now :D can't waittttt!

I haven't smoked weed in about eight months, after being a long term smoker for 11 years prior to that; That being said, this is probably going to make me blaze up for the nostalgia of TES III: Morrowind.

Yea :/. The most extreme case would be if developers just cancel the idea of worldwide release for Australians. Usually however the street breaks occur as a result of regional smaller retailers selling them (sometimes due to release date confusion), and as a consequence bigger retailers follow suit to not lose customers that want to buy the game earlier. It's really hard to keep a leash on all the distributors as the release dates of massive titles draw near, hopefully developers recognise this. All in all, the consumer will ultimately benefit in the short term, and probably lose in the long term, in regards to release dates due to this and other complications (hello sw;tor).

Dude we get late stuff too, off the top of my head RAGE, but theres tons more that come out days ahead elsewhere..

Only 7 hours until I can start playing. So pumped.

ps3 version is looking really good. Just saw some footage someone pm'd me, and was very impressed (been trying to decide between ps3 or xbox).
|
If Aussie retailers continue to break street date publishers are going to start releasing games much delayed here. Wish they would stop doing this shit and just stick to the date that is written on their shipment package.

Kind of a noob question, but is this game something that, if I play it casually, I'll be playing it for a long time? I don't want an epic but short game!

The main quest is about 30 hours from what ive heard and there is heaps more hours of gameplay with sidequests, like 200+ hours worth if you want it to be. This game will last you a really long time.
