The goal of this will be to have a permanent world (barring any gamebreaking updates from Notch post-retail) that grows with the players. Even though the world will be the same you should be able to log in every week and experience something completely new - be it in the form of new terrain, additional features, or just new things to do in general. With this you should also feel a better sense of community with the other players. We always had a lot of tight-knit players on the old server but we had even more players that logged in, spent 2-3 days building something, then left the server when it was completed - never to return again. We're looking to keep people coming back this time to ensure the community grows and progresses forward instead of simply stagnating as it did previously. We had over 4,000 unique players on the old server but less than 100 that played longer than a week. There simply wasn't much to do other than build; a problem that will be nonexistent on the new server. EDIT: "community" excludes certain unmentionable players who will, fortunately, not be making an appearance on this new server. I'm certain most people will know who I'm talking about. | ||
