Well, it's a card that was made to be broken. It's kinda a weird curve to do it with the menace though, unless you ramp into it.

It needs 2 black quickly, plus some ramp and fixing. If you run something like shocklands, llanowar, and visionary, you could, theoretically, get a turn 2 corpsejack and turn 3 desecration demon with rancor.

It's far from breaking anything. Most aggro decks just laugh at Desecration Demon (they just sac a cheap creature and finish you off), and Corpsejack Menace is just a horrible Loxodon Smiter unless it somehow is possible to profitably combo it with good evolve like Experiment One. Making a huge Demon certainly won't let you win games that you wouldn't have won anyways. Stacking counters on a creature is just asking for removal or bounce spells.

If you want to combo stuff, make sure it's either immediately lethal or it doesn't rely on multiple vulnerable 4 mana creatures. Otherwise play efficient creatures and make sure you have a solid curve. That usually means that way over half your creatures cost less than 4 mana.

Combat tricks also should not be played in large quantities because it opens yourself up to get 2-for-1'd easily (Ultimate Price or Selesnya Charm on Demon as you cast Burst of Strength?). At least Village Bell-Ringer is a good blocker that acts as a combat trick and can occasionally cause huge blowouts in creature vs creature mirrors. Restoration Angel is obviously there too.

Also: Try Heartless Summoning with Desecration Demon and Bell Ringer (and as few noncreature spells as possible). That way you can play Desecration Demon on turn 3 with mana for Bell Ringer up.

Yknow, for shits and giggles, some green Bloodrush would have some entertaining synergy in there. Play your cards right (haha) and you could seriously be beating with a seriously badass turn 2 flyer.

If DD doesn't get removed and just becomes otherwise shut down you could probably sac him to Disciple of Bolas. Two card black Sphinx's Revelation that leaves 2/1 body... it might hit big or just get countered. Even with the life gain a stronger aggro deck could probably catch up.

I think I'll play test this a bit in my current black heavy Jund mash up.

Honestly, cheap agro seems like the most interesting it's been in a while. mono R, RB, RG and RW all seem at least somewhat viable and give you a lot of options.

Speaking of Corpsejack Menace, when I last played physical Magic a few weeks ago, I borrowed a B/G Zombie deck off a friend, and managed to 4-0 FNM. It was pretty cool. I think the list was something like:

4 Lotleth Troll

The deck mainly runs off the pure synergy of Zombies, but it adds green for some interesting combos. For example, Lotleth Troll can gain 2 +1/+1 counters off Slitherhead by discarding it and then exiling it to Scavenge. Corpsejack Menace T4 into scavenging a Dreg Mangler on T5 can potentially win you the game right there if unblocked.

It's not Tier 1, but as I said, I was able to 4-0 FNM with it, and I was quite surprised by how powerful it turned out to be.

Can easily kill T4-T5 with the right draws, is quite cheap for modern (especially if you just play straight Plains over the fetches) and beats most creature decks straight up while having sideboard hate for pretty much everything in the format.

I'm not gonna say stuff like "Oh, it's Jund matchup is good" or anything. It's a fun list for a modern FNM or something, I haven't tested it outside of a bunch of sample hands

Haha, I went through the same thing a couple weeks ago. My first couple drafts I played grindy decks and timed out at least 2 matches. The hotkeys really help though. F2 presses "ok" and F6 yields your entire turn (very nice for first couple turns or if you need to save time).

Well, tonight's FNM, I'm still torn on whether I won or lost. 0-3, Aurelia, Glaring Spotlight, Boros Reckoner, Stomping Ground. Bought a couple packs after, Lazav and a Firemane Avenger foil.

In short, no. MTG is quite expensive to play competitively, and appreciably expensive to play casually. While there are free services to play online with friends, you'd be surprised how pricy ink on card stock can get

Wow 95% of people are just forcing Boros to a point it's not even fun to play these events. Sure it's very strong but i don't understand how it can be fun to only play one guild..
