Wish I had the time/patience to go through all my modern/legacy playables, too. Just buy some Chromatic Lanterns and go five colour.

1-2 at the GPT, there were 12 people.
Evidently my deck can't beat T4 Huntmaster into T5 Thragtusk into T6 Olivia bite/steal two games straight while flooded.
Nor can I beat Thought Scour my turn into miracle Terminus into Miracle Terminus again into Miracle Entreat twice in a row.
How the fuck does someone run that good, please teach me

Coverage of GP San Jose is starting, day[9] is in attendance along with a ton of new and old school magic pros.
http://www.twitch.tv/magicprotour
The format is team sealed, teams of 3 build 3 40 card decks from a 12 pack pool of RTR.
Edit: day[9]'s match is being featured now, playing against a pretty stacked Japanese team. I'll try to link a VOD of the match later.

Aww man day9 lost. O well hopefully his team still makes day2. Testing my Junk Midrange deck on mtgo now and so far haven't lost in about 15 matches. Only played vs 2 terrible decks so I think it has potential.
|
Team[9] is still 4-1, so they have a good shot at day 2. 11 rounds in one day is pretty crazy though, stamina will be vital.

For a second I thought you had tested 15 matches against 2 terrible decks and thought that meant your deck was good. And then it hit me... :D

Team[9] lost round 6, needs to win out for guaranteed day 2.

wow this gp is huge.. at first I was like man I'm missing out I should have made the trip, but then i see they are still in round 6.
Let me know how your states went everyone, I wasn't able to attend cause of other priorities, next events im playing are released events on MTGO :D.

Yeah, it seems like they will be playing until 5 am EST.

Oh well, time to fail more in pauper DE's and wait for release event on mtgo too
on another note their stream is bad

I've been playing around on Cockatrice and having a good time (just getting into magic), and am thinking about starting to play official MTGO. Do a lot of people play there? Are there ladders or other fun stuff that Cockatrice doesn't have? Anyone who has tried it let me know if its worth the investment!
|
Anyone saying that they want to play 11 rounds of GP level Magic...is either incredibly enthusiastic about MTG or have never actually played at one of these events. Teams are fun...but 11 rounds is #nothnx.

Sounds like many teams are dropping after picking up their second loss, even though you can make day 2 as X-2.

I think this Standard is missing a B hand disruption spell. Duress feels bad 70% of the time.

Appetite for Brains too. Zombies and U/W or G/W aggro are really the only decks playing CMC 4 or less.

I tested Appetite, it felt marginally playable...There's that G/W/b over-the-top deck that plays 4 Silverhearts, 4 Sublimes, 4 Restoration Angels, 4 Silverblade Paladins and Appetite was not irrelevant. But not great. Didn't even bother playing it against Zombies or U/W- aggro.

I'm SBing appetite currently in my deck and it has been good. Although I'm starting to think despise might be better since it seems 90% of the time I'm taking a creature or PW anyways... In a DE atm and deck is playing well. Beat _batutinha_ playing grixis control round1 but lost round 2 to jund ramp. Mostly lost due to no mana though. Deck definitley needs 24-25 lands not 23. Way too greedy there. Also, vs both decks olivia been very scary. Not sure whats best way to kill her in WGB... really tough. Crushing vines seems like best choice.
