Barcelona is the Winter Champion of "La liga" (half league) with some historical records:
- 52 points in 19 matches (17 wins from 19 matches) - 61 goals scored. (3,2 per game) - 11 goals received. (0,58 per game) - 28 matches without loose (including league, cup and champions).
He is 4 points above Real Madrid. But we will have to wait the other half of the league to see if Barcelona can keep that rhytme.

On the one hand this shows how good barca indeed is, but on the other hand it also shows that in the spanish league the smaller clubs are quite weak. This makes the league somewhat boring imo when compared to the other eurpean ones.

i'm reaaaally surprised united hasn't lost yet. they're certainly better than a lot of the teams, but they haven't played that way. quite a number of games with last minute wins, draws, etc. and with their pretty bad away form (7 draws from 9 games i think?), i doubt they will go through the season undefeated; i feel like they've deserved to lose some games.
but, that's also what's scary. they haven't peaked, but are undefeated lol;
on other news.. pienaar to spurs bent to villa grant's staying.
any thoughts? pienaar's a decent player, and spurs just got a bit more stacked, but not too big of a deal. wonder if everton will cope without pienaar, which they seem to have recently.
bent.. this guy was crazy good in his first season in sunderland (25 goals or something like that right?), but kind of died down this season. i think villa will benefit a lot from him, and i can see them salvaging the season, then shooting for a top 6 or so finish next season.

Yes, you are right. Some years ago Barcelona, Madrid, Valencia, Deportivo, Atletico, etc could fight for the league (Valencia won it in 2002 and 2004, Deportivo in 2000). But this last years Barcelona and Madrid are far from the other teams. Is like there were two leagues, one with Barcelona and Madrid fighting for 1º and another one with Villareal and Valencia fighting for 3º.
LFP should do something about television rights income in small teams.
