Instead of making their refereeing better and focusing on not making crap decisions all the time; they fine the players for complaining! Although they aren't the only rubbish football association.

![]() ![]() Looks like there are a lot of jokes about Webb's reffing: Howard Webb's kids have denied their Dad is a secret Man Utd fan. "He is totally unbiased" Alex, George, Bobby, Matt and Cristiano stated. Howard Webb wasn't showing Steven Gerrard a red card - it was his Manchester United season ticket book

Everyone is asking that. Messi said at the plane that Xavi or Iniesta deserved the ball like him or more than him and I have to agree with him, since Xavi played excellent at the world cup and the rest of competitions, while Messi sucked at the World Cup. I agree Messi is the best soccer player but Xavi deserved the ball more than him this year. And don't forget this fact: Messi is the best player because of Xavi and Iniesta, he isn't the same without them. My ranking: 1st Xavi 2nd Messi 3rd Iniesta (Sneijder deserves to be there as 2nd or 3rd player instead of Iniesta) Sneijder should be in front of all of them if Messi won the award considering Inter won everything (including being in the team that beat Barca) and Holland reaching the WC final where Sneijder is the top scorer and basically man of the match every single game.

Indeed, Xavi and Sneijder were the best options for the gold ball, not Messi.

Sometimes i feel i'm the only one here that realizes what's going on with Barcelona these last couple seasons. Considering most talk here is about the EPL, im guessing many don't even watch them. They're playing the best football i've ever seen in my life. Yet, people still mention Sneijder as if he even comes close to Messi ...and even Xavi ...but prob around the same par as iniesta in terms of winning this type of trophy (tho as for skill alone Iniesta > Sneijder easily). To me it's a no brainer that Barcelona and Barcelona players should be winning the majority of these kinds of awards by miles.

Perhaps you should consider you are Barcelona biased. Sneijder carried both his teams at times. Sure Messi is more skilled but come on, Sneijder had a much better footballing year. This award isn't based solely on skill. I for one, am not on the Barcelona loving train. They play nice but to claim thats how football is meant to be played is just wrong imo. And when the odds are actually AGAINST them (ie. against Inter in the 2nd leg or Hercules at home) the dirty side comes out with all the diving and imaginary card waving.

But 2010 was all Xavi, the most underrated player in the world imo. he received just 6 percent of votes wtf Its a shame that such an amazing player probably will not receive ballon D´or in his career considering his age.

Lets keep it this way. not really , the supporting cast is pretty bad in Argentina if we compare it to Barca, Di Maria is no Iniesta or even Pedro. Pastore is no Xavi, Masherano is imo better than Busquets but the attacking partnership is lacking. hope argentinians wont bash me ;o

They should've invited some european team too. Germany and Spain would be awesome.

USA was snubbed because in 07 we sent a b/c team to COPA America because we wanted our A team at the gold cup (gold cup champion gets to play in the Confederations Cup). It was and still is a hotly debated issue in American soccer/football. They didn't like us sending a shit team that just got blasted in each game.

wc isn't supposed to be twice as important as the rest of the season. and while yes sneijder was crucial for inter winning treble, barcelona was the actual best team in the world last season, and messi was the best player. inter was justly glorified through mourinho winning best manager - that was also the one area where inter was better than the entire opposition. del bosque winning manager of the year would similarly have been ridiculous - spain wins wc consisting of 7 games with the best squad in the world, inter wins italian league with the best squad, italian cup with the best squad, and CL with a squad between second and fifth best. xavi should get an award for best passer or maybe best midfielder but messi is the one player that constantly awes everyone in every game he plays. (apart from wc- but honestly, he wasn't even bad there. it was just bad luck that kept him from scoring. he still played like a really good player, just not like the undisputed #1 player in the world which he was through the rest of the season. )
