They had a 75% chance of being the underdog, Real, Barca and Bayern are stronger than Arsenal is. Happens when you suck in the group stage and place second in such an easy group. Arsenal would have been the perfect draw for Bayern ![]()

(a) there is so much more passion from the players and the supporters alike. obviously this isn't a particularly new observation, but it is reinforced when watching so many games in a row from south america and then turning on united arsenal... 8) (b) seriously, the atmosphere, fucking gr8. (c) that being said, while the quality of play was always going to be worse, it's surprising how much more cynical and negative overall it is compared to european football. i always expect, stereotypically i suppose, south american teams to play the attractive, attacking football and europeans teams to play cautious, defensive football, but in truth it's the opposite. (d) the south american refs are doing a much better job of dealing with diving than i've seen in recent years(i think refs worldwide are tbh), but the time wasting and gamesmanship is just awful. it's amazing how the ball boys vanish into thin air as soon as the home team goes ahead, heh. (e) btw, it's absolutely extraordinary how many goals are scored from headers or tap-ins from about 5 yards by unmarked players, honestly about 50% of the goals are scored in this manner, it's fucking bizarre. bonus videos from the finals: sry for getting on a soapbox ;3 also, if any south americans can tell me where i can download high quality rips from south american competitions i would love you for ever <3

NOW! :D:D:D As expected, an easy win. ^__^ Roma has been dominating Milan on San Siro the last couple of years (winning 4 of the last 5 games there). Only 7 points up right now, which is about half as many as they had up to Inter last season at the same stage. The scudetto hope is alive! If only Roma didn't start their season so terribly every single time. -__- Oh well, time to go out and celebrate! Woohoo!

Ok fair. Barca stronger than Arsenal? Of course. Bayern stronger than Arsenal? Uhh no. Sitting in 5th in the Bundesliga and struggling with a buttery defense = not on the same level. Arsenal would dominate. Yes we are unlucky. Though maybe we could do some magic, with Vermaelen and Cesc healthy we would at least put up a decent fight.

That being said, Bayern would still win.
