The "red card" changed the game. Messi couldn't do shit before it because he didn't have the room. Even at 10 vs 11 real were playing better in the 2nd half until the goal. First half was what Mourinho and RM wanted. Slow the game down and make barcelona run for nothing and then get stronger in the second haf. That's what they did.

Also I dont even understand why he was playing home for a 0-0 I guess is an OK result, and he would be happy about it, but he waited until he was down until making the lines farther and attacking and pressuring more

There are some pretty damn nice plays. Should've had a bunch of assists in that game. ![]()

You see that every weekend, nothing special - it's yellow. Often times that kind of foul does not even get punished with yellow, you just get a free kick. In Germany the refs were told before the season to watch more carefully for exactly that kind of foul - and punish it with yellow :p

In Germany the refs were told before the season to watch more carefully for exactly that kind of foul - and punish it with yellow :p If you saw the previous too games between barça and real madrid, you saw that the way that mourinho found to beat barcelona was to phisically "beat" them, playing an agressive physical football... Pepe always plays on the limit of the foul, and with all considerations and the angle that the ref and the assistant ref had to see the tackle, it really seems like a red card, altough after you whatch the replay you can see that it was only a yellow, borderline redish...

He stopped a lot of messi possibilities by defending the area in which Messi usually drops deep to collect the ball, so it had a lot to do with it. If managers are able to put somebody fast and good at marking like Pepe on Messi he becomes a lot less pivotal. Not a great match either way, Busquets acting like a little girl, Alves being a twat as usual, Di Maria also being a twat. Stupid red card and pedro also acting like an idiot. El classico, not so much.

The game was disgusting indeed. I think that is how it was supposed to be, though: Mourinho already taught his boys to provoke and annoy the opponent and Guardiola probably made proper evaluation of Copa del Rey defeat by ordering his team to be less polite (which was going to happen anyway since Carles Puyol came back). The outcome of all these improvements is a clean win since Barca simply plays better football and Real had two essential players out of the lineup. I also find it funny that aside from Messi, Keita and Afellay were two who played best. GG Real, as for a team without Carvalho and Khedira, you fought well.

@the gif of Ronaldo, he was pissed cause he was the only one in the team pressing. Which is quite understandable, if all you do is hang back, you can atleast spend some energy on trying to put pressure.
