I had the hardest time trying to balance playing both...I imagine the same thing will happen this time around.

I think hes trying to say the story isn't so great now cause of how old it is, but that its still really awesome.

Receiving a beta key is probably the most satisfying moment I've ever had. Can't wait for the key hunting!.

I think the coolest part of the story in diablo (atleast as far as diablo 1) was the manual. Back when blizz manuals and a lot of backstory and cool artwork.

They still do have that, its just not as popular since so many people just get the digital download.

/agree.
One of the best feelings is being able to share content with friends/family.

As a matter of fact I got a SCII beta key even though my computer can't handle it, and I got a friend code to haha.

It would be pretty stupid to give beta keys only to high and mid end systems. If anything you would want it for people to test the game on PCs that just barely or are slightly under the requirements. My PC for instance is ancient for todays standards. Nvidia 6600 GT,Athlon 3000+ and 2 gigs of ram.AGP doesn't even exist anymore
Despite that i can play sc2 and was truckin in masters last season so don't see why I wouldn't have at least a shot at participating in the beta.

I'd say any setup that are capable of running sc2 have a shot at making the d3 beta.

Blizzard prides itself on the flexible scaling of their games. They want to reach a broad audience, so higher end PCs may not be favored. SC2 is playable on a wide variety of set ups as were games prior to it.

Yup, a couple of my bnet accounts are registered under lower end computers for this very reason. Only 1 account is attached to my beast computer.

This is what I was thinking as well.

I'm scared shitless just thinking about when the D3 keys are being sent out. I've been there before.
Among me and my friends i was the only one that loved Starcraft, my friends had played 1-2 UMS soccer games during the last 12years or something, they didn't really give a shit about the game. I, on the other hand, grew up with Starcraft and love everything about it. I had been waiting forever for a SC2 key and when the time came, every single one of my friends, except one, got beta keys and i didn't. It was one of the worst couple of weeks of my life. They didn't want to give me a key because SC2 was such a huge deal and they wanted to play it because of the cool graphics etc.
I was devastated, i honestly don't think i can survive something like that again. I fear it to the point where i actually just wish they would skip the beta and just wait and release the final version just so i won't have to suffer something like that again.

Why don't you just buy a beta key? Or switch your sleep schedule around so you can play while your friends sleep if it's THAT much of a passion for you.

I think (and hope) that oncoming D3 beta (beta build is complete) will be much shorter so game will be released in late November/December. I think game is like 95% done atm

I am hoping for a early December release. That way I can take a few weeks off and all will be good in the world.

SC2 beta keys were expensive as hell, for a student like me at least :D
