From a fresh install, I patched. When the launcher had an error, I would open the patcher_lib.log file (under /riot/league of legends/) and look for this phrase:

"Unable to verify source for expansion"

After it you can see what file is missing / corrupted.

The "correct files" are the ones in this zip file: [url blocked]

(I got the from the LoL forums). Hopefully it will not fuck up future patching.

Anyway after you replaced the ones corrupted / missing you re-open the patcher (remember to close the patcher_lib.log file or the patcher won't be able to overwrite it).

then you have to repeat the process, open the log, search for a missing file, copy paste it, close log, open launcher.

At some point Riot will decide they have trolled you enough and you will be able to play.
