Once Brown or Farmar has the ball in their hands you know they're gonna dribble it around and then jack up a 20-footer. That stretch where Utah came all the way back to take the lead was when the Laker bench was playing. Bynum was their best option during that stretch and I think he touched the ball once >_<

MVP voting is very strange. When Nash won twice other players had better stats, but Nash was considered to be the most important piece of the team out of all teams. But in different years stats will be looked at, like the years of Shaq's prime when he did not win MVPs even with monster stats and being the most important to his team in a larger sense than Nash. -.- People had Durant as the #2 MVP and I think that had a lot to do with his positive image. TMac never got as much consideration even in the year he had better stats than Durant (one of the best statistical seasons ever - according to Hollinger #3 all time or something). And of course there is a fair chance of other players just having better seasons than Lebron in the future. edit: PS, oh god Kobe, http://www.latimesmagazine.com/2010/05/kobe-white-hot.html

That period of time (end of the game), nobody was playing particularly well. And those pics of Kobe, not good at all, makes him seem like an emaciated person.

Pau grabbed 5 rebounds in that stretch and made some free throws and a basket. Odom grabbed a few rebounds including a crucial offensive rebound towards the very end, along with a putback and a layup. Pau also got a clutch block too iirc. The defense also vastly improved with the Jazz going something like 2 for 10 once the starters came back in.

Honestly, Korver and Price going out had to do with it more, Price ran around like a mad man and grabbed a few boards during that 13-4 run. Korver was shooting pretty well during that stretch to. I am not saying either of those guys are better than their respective starters but they played well and frankly outhustled the Lakers. Still the Laker bench didn't get as big of lead as people like to think, it was 8 at half and it was 8 at the start of the 4th, Utah Jazz just hung around for most of the game. It just felt like the Laker bench was giving up a 30 something point lead. This game was weird in that sense, Lakers looked like they were going to blow them out, but never really delivered the finishing blow and the Jazz looked they were waiting to make a run for stealing home court but never made a serious effort.
