In hindsight I found the matchmaking in that fight to be questionable. Chris is only 22 and has plenty of time to make a name, I am surprised they didn't give him a BJJ guy with no takedowns to start with. I'm really beginning to question the training these days from Xtreme Couture. Most of their fighters are in a slump, and there has been alot of rumblings about problems with the leadership there. Chris making a mistake like that makes me question how intense these guys are being prepared for fights. They all seem very lax lately, like they have had a bunch of yes men scream in thier ear there is no way they can lose during camp. Just speculation tho. All the fights kicked ass tho! Awesome way to send off the year! And I am impressed with Strikeforce's roster at this point, if they can figure out how to make a good broadcast (their fights rock, the rest.... not so much) they might get big. | ||

Until just just recently, Shawn Tompkins was their MMA trainer. He was also Horodecki's trainer and has gone as far as saying "I believe this kid is the next fedor" about Horodecki. Fighter: Ken Shamrock, ok so maybe he's not doing to well on that fighter part in the last 6 or whatever years. But even when he was good, the Lions Den has never produced anyone sweet since like 2002. And Ken showed why on TUF 3, he's a terrible coach, he didn't even bring in a BJJ guy for fucks sake... That being said I should re-phrase my comment about Xtreme Couture. It seems like the camp has lost it's fire, the fighters seem to be slumping and showing up with bad gameplans or making weird mistakes like Chris and Forrest did. Forrest opening with a 1-2 Head Kick (as mentioned by Rogan) against Silva was just bizarre. All that did was give away the timing of his 2 most common punches, and one of his best offensive tools in his kicks. Silva is known for using the opening to figure out timing, you just played into his strength. The Chris thing again shows me a lack of intensity in the training camp, you will NEVER see a guy from Chute Box make that mistake for example. I'm not the first person to make this accusation, several former Xtreme Couture fighters were the ones that brought this to light originally. | ||

( If an admin feels this is too off topic or doesnt belong here.. he may delete my post but I saw this and just thought i had to share it.. cause it disturbed me on a whole different level than bad cuts or really bad K.O's sometimes ( rarely ) do.. ) wtf !? But back to Strikeforce if they got Bas and Kenny Rice (or Quadros would work too) in the booth and removed all the other they would be alot better off. Bas is one of the top 2 commentators in my eyes (Rogan being 1), he is funny, and he knows the sport better than any other commentator. | ||
