It all seems to rest on: "A friend of Crittenton, Kendrick "Bookie Ball" Long, told the Post the third-year player discussed the altercation with him." Meh, I think such a scandal shouldn't be thrown around without something better than that... considering every other NBA star/borderline star has some sort of huge claim against them, even teamliquid forum golden boy Chuancey had a rape accusation or two.
In most cases no one made a big story for obvious reasons, not sure why it is not the case here. This seems to be getting serious attention even though the evidence is as weak as your general baseless allegation + the story being pretty impossible to imagine + Gilbert being a pretty smart guy (afaik).
Completely rich Gilbert getting annoyed his teammate wants him to pay a debt and then pulling a gun on him? Right... It's just like if Bill Gates owed me 200$ and when I asked him for it he pulled a gun on me -_-
I'd hate to see Gilbert out of the NBA.
It's not like this kind of thing has no precedent. There were NBA guys who had gambling debts with Charles Oakley and initially refused to pay.
Don't associate a high salary with being rich. A good percentage of pro athletes are exorbitant spenders who retire with next to nothing.
lol so true. My friend told me about an incident years ago where before a game Charles Oakley punched Tyrone Hill in the face because he didn't pay him his $$.

Comcast SportsNet's Chris Miller is reporting that Arenas did not point a gun at Crittenton and that Crittenton himself did not have a weapon. Miller has confirmed a Yahoo! Sports report that an incident between the players occurred before practice on December 21 and that the disagreement was over a bet.
Arenas denied pulling a gun on his teammate when asked about it by the NY Post after Tuesday's game with the Thunder. On his Twitter account Friday afternoon, Gilbert Arenas tweeted: "i wake up this morning and seen i was the new JOHN WAYNE..lmao (laugh my ass off) media is too funny
by the way, does anybody have ANY idea why Tyreke Evans didn't play? I didn't hear anything about it on ESPN and it said DNPCD, so I don't think he's injured...?? Did he pull a gun on someone in the locker room or what?

Sprained ankle, is expected to play today vs Mavs.
ok on a more serious note, I too have been watching that game and they went into phoenix where phoenix has recent wins over the celtics and lakers and are just destroying them.
complete and utter rape on the glass and interior domination. HT since you are watching that game, tell me how many times randolph has gotten double teamed because he was scoring at will and then passing the ball out and leading to great ball movement with 4 or 5 passes with the next guy getting a bit more open than the guy before and ending up with a wide open shot.
after tonight memphis will be 16-16 and that is after getting off to a 1-8 start. They are 10-4 since the start of December with wins over Dallas, Cleveland and Phoenix. Gay and Conley are playing a tad bit better than last year, Gasol has improved a lot with his weight loss and improved quickness and conditioning. But it is essentially the same team as last year, just replace Darrell Arthur with zeebo.
