Leffen played super well but I really wanted Armada to win and reset the bracket. Too bad Armada couldn't play as well in game 5 as he did in game 4.

TBH I don't know why people like armada that much. I completely understand in terms of skill, but he's a really boring player to watch, imo. If he touches you you're dead. Further, he has no discernable personality.

Because I know him and play with him all the time, he's a friend of mine. I don't really agree that he plays boring. I can appreciate most playstyles as I focus more on the actual play and the mindgames behind it rather than who plays flashy. I can see why lower level players mostly focus on the flashy stuff though.

Also Leffen is possibly the biggest asshole smash has to offer. I would be happy as long as he lost to anyone.

Aww, come on, I'm not talking about personalities in person. I'm sure Armada's a nice guy. But he's not fun to watch as a non-peach main. Part of it comes from the fact that her combos drive me up the wall because there's no way to recover from them as falcon. A good peach basically says "you're dead if I can get you off stage, and it only takes 2 hits for me to get you there." Plus, she's hard to edgeguard, and Armada's the best at making it back.... but I digress.

I'm sure Adam Lindgren is a nice guy to get to know. I'm sure William Hjete is too, from what I've seen of his public persona.

Thing is, I like Leffen's attitude when it comes to Smash: nobody is good enough, and we all need to improve dramatically.Further, he owns his losses, and he explains how to play (in depth) on his stream. I wasn't around for when he was supposedly such an asshole, so I see three distinct possibilities: 1) he's an excllent actor and portrays a very good public persona, 2) he's not really a dick and people don't like him for some other reason, or 3) he's totally cleaned up his act.

Anyone know what friendlies are like at APEX? Will there be a separate room for such?

I want to hear first hand experiences. I know I'll be eliminated quickly so I'm mainly going there in hopes of playing friendlies against anyone.

mm nice video of sheik edge guards, sheik sure is fun. That is what I have mostly enjoyed about smash 4 so far, you get some really cool fights on/off the edge, and unsurprisingly sheik excels at that, so it's no wonder she's considered one of the better characters in smash 4 atm.

I'm not going to lie, the European style that comes up across pretty much every game I find super boring to watch as a whole. Super solid fundamentals with a safe game plan is just meh. Hated it in hon, hated it in dota, hated it in sc2, and I've seen enough in melee to assume I'm going to hate it in melee too.

yeah, like 3 years ago I hated watching Peaches except Armada, if only because my friend played this utterly brainless dash attack / dsmash / fc dair -> nair / turnip peach that did better when he wasn't paying attention to the game. Armada, on the other hand, could actually pull off lengthy combos despite how utterly slow Peach is.

Now I don't really mind watching good Peaches vs spacies / Marth / Sheik / Falcon.

I've just watched the video about the frame counter... wow thats pretty sick.

Could you tell me some setups you use? How do you use the multiple counters w falcon? (as in which data do you monitor?)
