Maybe some one could do something like this on more oldschoolers who still participate? I know from TL that they are big names, but I know few about them.

The FP thingy is just emphasizing what we already know: Oov is the most successful gamer ever if we only take the two major individual leagues (OSL/MSL) of today into consideration. Only Savior comes a close in that regard. I'm fine on that issue. I know it's basically impossible to make a grading system that is fair on all eras. But that's exactly what I'm arguing. These gradings we see nowdays are based on the gaming scene of today. I also concede that Oov's rise to success was faster than ANY gamer alive. In fact, Oov's winning percentage was godly from the start and started to fall with his trophy count. His 2003 (his debut year if I remember right) statistics are out of this world. Check out his 2004 statistics though. They're not as high as you'd think they'd be. You talk as if Oov had 90% winning percentage while sweeping all the trophies. That's not true. His crazy records are from his early days when most of his matches were of relatively lower standards (being an official match says nothing about the importance of the game). I'm willing to bet that if we take a similar portion from Boxer or Nada's peaks, we'd see similar percentages. Maybe Oov still comes out on top. I won't be surprised. ELO ratings doesn't persuade me one bit though. BTW Here's a link I found about Boxer. It's in Korean though. http://cafe.naver.com/hpeople.cafe?iframe_url=/ArticleRead.nhn?articleid=4153 It's about Boxer's pre-1.08 days which also happens to be a chunk of his pre-OSL days. He was a force to be reckoned with back then too. Take into consideration that OSL was just one of many tournaments (that happened to be televised) back then. FP on PGR will nullify much of his "force" even though much of these tournaments were HUGE back then. They just died out. Doesn't mean they were small back then though. To summarize.for those of you who don't speak Korean: Hanbit OSL Qualification/Main tournament 17-1 GameQ Season 3 9-1 ZZGame Invitational 6-0 GGTV 9-3 WCG Qualification/Main tournament 20-0 ITV Ranking Season 3 9-3 Crazy stuff. I'm not sure exactly how the ELO rankings work, but dunno how it managed to calculate all that AND his performances afterwards to a point that doesn't even top Iris' peak (no disprect to Iris of course).

But, you conceded the point i was trying to get across - oov's rise was the fastest out of any progamer. ELO can never be used as a standalone tool or a principle argument but its great for supporting evidence. And thats what i was using it for here. Sure its inaccurate, sure it doesn't do boxer/grr etc justice, but it still gets across the point. And if you don't feel that ELO is suited for this purpose, then you are probably more than justified to think so; i probably could have used the PGR Force graph instead or something similar to illustrate the point; but at the end of the day it gives additional insight into the winrate of oov and thats pretty much it (e.g. he peaked before he won his OSL, like, way before)

Savior came close, as did Nada and Jaedong, but they all failed. He truly was the Monster Terran. stopped reading there.
