Are they a globally hated team or something? I was mostly disgusted by their lack of spirit lol. They generally have a strong solid team, having won the last WC, but it also seems like they lack the drive this WC.

Are they a globally hated team or something? Dunno, but for me personally I just don’t like their guts and would prefer to see them lose.

France won WC then Euro (1998 - 2000), Spain won euro - WC - euro (2008 - 2010 - 2012). Brazil won World Cup - finalist - won World Cup. Sure winning a WC is fucking great, but is very very successful the right word for Germany recently? I’d say only Spain has been very very successful this millenium. They dominated for so long that people were sick of it. So I’d go with the narrative that they lack spirit and it shows, thus we want to see them lose.

The worst world cup performance in German history. What a disgrace. Yes the most succesful coach of the german team ever should be fired for 1 bad performance. 2008 - finals 2010 - semifinals 2012 - semifinals 2014 - winner 2016 - semifinals I'm not a fan of the german NT at all but it boggles my mind how people immediately forget all he has done the moment he stops having success.

They have tried but Germanys strikers were too fucking shit. Müller, Werner and Gomez combined had 0 goals at entire WC. Dont get me wrong, Werner has played great as roamer on final third, but he was supposed to be score goals. 40 years old Klose couldve scored at least one this tournament if he were to play.

Its not like we got those results because of him. Germany has always been a great soccer nation and the past years we had a team full of hungry worldclass players. Löw was always critized for not getting the maximum out of the team. He just proved that he is not horrible. In 2014, when he finally won a title, everything was fine again of course. He should have retired after that. And for this worldcup, we're not only talking about bad performane here. Its historically bad.

Are they a globally hated team or something? Mostly it's just refreshing, we want shocking moments, a bit of envy too. It's still one of the most respected and loved team around the world. Frankly, given the quality they are known to have, they should have qualified out of any group even if Lothar Matthäus was the coach. It's not like he's the first coach to fail the transition following a win. A few established players would not have been in the squad or on the pitch if they did not have the label "world champion". I agree with you on the lack of effort though, they were walking at the 75th minute of the game, wtf?

I’d say only Spain has been very very successful this millenium. They dominated for so long that people were sick of it. So I’d go with the narrative that they lack spirit and it shows, thus we want to see them lose. Germany has more semifinal appearances than any other team and the 2nd most WC appearances in the world. They have the tied-2nd most WC wins ever and the tied most EURO wins ever. Even if they've only won one tournament recently, they consistently perform extremely well and always make deep runs in tournaments. So yes, they're a very successful team. I can see him retiring by his own choice but firing him would be incredibly unfair. No it wouldn't. Low isn't a good manager. People have been saying this for years. Where's Sneirac? Pretty sure he tried to shoot me down when I mentioned this after the first game. Low has been perpetually criticized for getting less out of the roster that he had than he could. I dare say that Germany won 2014 in spite of him. He is entirely too rigid, plays favorites far too much, and is a poor judge of overall quality. He needed to be gone after EURO16. He really needs to be gone now. If they don't replace him before EURO20, then Germany deserves the trash performance that they're going to put in.
