The problem weren't single players, it was the whole fucking squad
Problem is... Germany is a great team when their machine working. But they need someone/something to make things happen when opponent manages to stop them.

hehe, I know, I know, the joke shoulda be made after Brazil's game today, not before, but I couldn't hold it.
I'm just happy there's no chance of a Brazil X Germany rematch.
This time Brazil actually had a decent chance considering such poor performance by Germans, on the other hand Brazil also doesn't look convincing also. Only Belgium and Croatia looks dominant at the moment.
Honestly, Löw should've retired long ago. Playing the same way three times in a row, using a strategy that was a PROVEN failure before the WC even started, that is inexcusable. It's so sad they're going to let him fuck up again in 2020, just so maybe he will get rescued by a team that is way too good for him.

What about Uruguay?
they won their 3 games, but Egypt and Saudi Arabia are easily the worst teams in the tournament, they beat Russia that looked good but... vs the 2 worst teams in the tournament

Crazy people thinking someone who scored 10 goals and gave 15 assists in the hardest or second hardest league in the world can make a difference.
He scored goals on his own? Then it's hardly a hard league lol.
Give assists to whom? Özil created enough goalscoring chances this game for Germany to win it but no one scored.
Nice straw man. Never said he plays on his own. As to your second point one more player who is capable of giving assists and scoring is always useful when you need to score goals as in this game.

Sterling had 18 goals and 15 assists but easily the worst player on English NT.
You're missing the point. I was responding to 'why do people actually believe Sane might have changed things'. There are many reasons to believe such a thing but scoring and giving assists is one of the most important. Nowhere did I claim he certainly would have however.

Yeah relative to the team he was alright. I think the bigger issue was the fact that the people in front of him were offering him nothing. The only good runs in the box came from Hummels and Groketza(sp?). The forwards just did nothing.
Oh and what is the point of Gomez like at all? I actually don't think Gomez would even make the Dutch team and that says alot.
germanys strategy the entire tournament was dominate midfield only to give ball to wings and cross repeatedly. its useful to have a tall guy in the box
This has been a strange world cup so far. None of the favorites have shown good games in group stages. Lets see if they can do better in first elimination round. I am just afraid a team like Portugal wins WC as well. Their way of playing and winning is not fun to watch

Have some respect for the overachieving Löw and his team did. Germans need to not have such ridiculous expectations.
The fuck is wrong with you? You don't expect Germany to get out of group stages with one of their best squads in the recent 25 years? I could've coached them 2014 and they would've won. I'm serious. The team itself never overachieved at all, in 2014 they just fielded the single best roster, miles above everyone else. Take that and the fact Löw obviously being a man who prefers loyalty over skill, which should not be an issue in the German team in the first place. There are no Benzemas who will drag everyone down. Never have been really, this is one reason for everyone always praising their team spirit, long before Löw and Klinsmann. Now add taking Gomez with you who did not change AT ALL for TEN FUCKING YEARS and you look at people like Özil and Gündogan who mock the very concept of a national team just right before the tournament starts and you might get the picture. You just don't like that picture and probably starting watching football in 2006.

Pretty well. Like, wtf Germany. They were just sitting back chilling. So much for the "Germany has a team" meme. Losing to SK of all teams lol.
Eh? They attacked most of the game and had 3 great chances. If that was sitting back what did SK do?
It was lack of quality and some lack of luck, surely not a lack of effort.
Thanks for proving me right before I even posted that bit. You have no clue.
I would like to retort but honestly that post is just too incoherent, making it too much of an effort.
Too much effort to just read then I guess. Maybe all the other posts responding to you talking out of your ass will be more coherent.

Amazing game from our guys this time around. What a way to finish off our 2018 WC experience.
how many reserve players did Mexico play today? i tuned in around 90th minute and saw their fans praying to god and checking mobile phones. imagine a scenario where Mexico rested players and then SK advanced lul
