They attacked most of the game and had 3 great chances. If that was sitting back what did SK do? It was lack of quality and some lack of luck, surely not a lack of effort. dude, one thing is having the ball and attack, the other is what you show with it This germany side lacked ideas and the will to win honestly If anything they tried way too hard, which made them lose order towards the end and the ball consequently.
And I was mainly pointing out the irony of a SK fan criticizing Germany for sitting back while SK won the game by sitting back.

Germany played this whole world cup like a team who just expected everyone to roll over when faced with the mighty power of die Mannschaft. No energy, no passion, no cohesion. So many mistimed passes and terrible finishes. Didn't deserve to go through. GG to South Korea; they played stellar defense

Germany finish bottom of that group.
Low can go home and sniff his butt. Becasue he's out of the World Cup.

Now I know how the Spanish felt 4 years ago

yeah too bad mexico had to crumble, we would have actually advanced lol. we didnt deserve to though. the 2 goals were undeserved, game should have ended as 0-0. we sucked all 3 games
|
Wtf? Why are people saying Plattenhardt had no place in the team, lol?
What other left back should have been used instead of him? And he actually did quite a lot in that game1, but was simply ignored by the regulars. Why play with the new guy?

Also it's criminal that Brandt didn't start any of the games

Could've used him in all 3 games but I doubt he'd make the difference. Germany has been poor in all 3 games and were lucky they didn't concede more goals against Mexico and Sweden and that they scored in the last minute Vs Sweden.
I feel the same way. Yeah, bringing Sane and maybe Petersen over Gomez might've changed the outcome, Who knows. But it doesn't change the fact that the whole team looked uninspired and lacked the drive and motivation to defend the title. Just like Germany wins as a team, they definitely lost this year as a team, I wouldn't single out anyone, every one underperformed.

Anyone want to try to tell me Low shouldn't be fired now?
This team is going to be fucking obliterated by the German press and they fully deserve it. The worst world cup performance in German history. What a disgrace.

I thought Ozil actually played *well* today relative to the rest of the team. He had a few crisp combination passes on the left side of the box, and a couple nice crosses into the box that Hummels among others just couldn't finish
|
Why do people actually believe Sane might have changed anything?
The problem weren't single players, it was the whole fucking squad

i feel that a fan of curling is going to win this world cup bet.
like who would have thought that Germany would have been knocked out of this wc in the group stage and LAST

WHERE DA GERMANS AT??
hehe, I know, I know, the joke shoulda be made after Brazil's game today, not before, but I couldn't hold it.

I don't think they will fire him, he's pretty much untouchable because he had the results to back it, until now atleast. I think DFB would give him one more chance in 2020. Still, I sincerely hope he steps back himself, not because I think he is solely to blame for our performance (I think he's an above average manager who had an amazing team to work with), I just believe we need a fresh start, maybe a different approach and certainly more motivation and passion.

Their attacks had no energy. All these guys had to do was score a single goal to secure their advancement, instead they lost by 2 GOALS! They were walking around, thinking they'll score one later or something. Even though I LB'd them over KR, I'm glad they are out. Looked like they don't give a damn about advancing so they got what was coming. Korea had some nice chances and won a game against the previous WC, good for them. They still have a way to go, but at least they weren't the worst of the tournament.

I'm just happy there's no chance of a Brazil X Germany rematch.

It's a shame Mexico had to play so bad and lose against sweeden. Would have loved to return the favor helping SK advance.

This time Brazil actually had a decent chance considering such poor performance by Germans, on the other hand Brazil also doesn't look convincing also. Only Belgium and Croatia looks dominant at the moment.
