Ok, first of all, I didn't make myself clear enough.

GoodFriend added color to the pro scene precisely because he was one of the best jobbers in the history of Starcraft. I mean... look at his list of memorable losses. You mentioned the Hallucination Recall on Parallel lines, the 1-hatch hydra/ling against Shark on New Cultivation, the schintillating fast tank push loss to July in the OSL finals... not to mention Death by Harassment to Rainbow, the Unusually Potent Mutalistsks of Yellow in OSL, and all the good stuff.

By being a low personality, high efficiency gamer, GoodFriend became a memorable villian (in a different way than Savior is a villian) in the pro scene.

Plus, I think it's unfair to call GoodFriend colorless. He was surely the master of the 2-fac (hmm... Iris?). He was the best at setting up contains since Gundam himself. Steve once said that GoodFriend was the player that terrified you when he was against your favorite player, and I totally agree with that.

I guess I want him back so I can see him spectacularly lose again. Plus his career is slightly underrated.

He is NOT one of the 1-fac/1-rax CC Terrans that have recently sprung up like weeds. (= GOODFRIEND IS NOT BIFROST) GoodFriend is actually an old school Terran who remembers the days before FD, before bunker rushes, before FE. So in a way, he has his own style. Consider him the Silver of Terran.

And Iris has nothing to do with anything. Iris is actually more of an aggressive Xellos in my mind.
toootally agree about GoodFriend!

Is fun to Watch GoodFriend lose. He got pimped lots of times by lots of players. I mean his face after the Arbiter Reloaded pimp play by rA is awesome.

Maaaaan, KTF had better get it together.

GoodFriend should spend the time off in an improv class. That'd address many of the concerns (lack of personality, lack of innovative play) that some of you seem to have.

Agreed with Wasabi on GF. His OSL consistency rivalled July's. Not only his 2-fac play TvP - his TvT was considered best in the world for some time, and his TvZ was always solid and all-around powerful.

Agree with this!

Ive always kinda liked GF if nothing else for his spectacular standardness.. Its like Midas a bit. He is just(at one time) so consistent and its scary to watch your favs go against him, but it also makes me root for him when he is up vs someone I dont like!

no more gf hate!!!! (T)TheMarine was also boring but nice!!!!!

i really hope true veterans will start performing well, progaming isn't the same without (P)Reach, (T)XellOs, (P)IntoTheRainBOw, (P)Kingdom, (T)Sync, (P)Zeus, (Z)Junwi, etc. its sure that bw is in a skill level higher than before and newcomers have been pushing some oldies out of the big leagues but hey, (T)BoxeR-(Z)YellOw-(P)Garimto rivalries and such were just too good

iris now is pretty much identical to goodfriend after ever2005

Haha, agreed, I thought I was the only one who thought that.

A standard Terran with no real flair or inspiration, just solid mechanics. I'm siding with Mani here, I've NEVER hid my hatred for GF over the years and don't intend to now. He simply doesn't deserve to be playing in the upper echelon of progaming and he never has. GoodRiddence to GoodFriend.

Mean, yes, but in the business of entertainment and sport there is no room for someone with zero personality, and completely mediocre skills.

iris is standard and has no flair???

=(

Alright, alright, he's gotten much better. I suppose I should have said my early opinion of Iris was a copy of GF.

I share HB's sentiments, especially after BlizzCon. IriS is definitely showing more potential that we've seen from GF, not to mention he doesn't seem as mundane. He definitely has the (-_-) face but at least he has something "exciting" to say during his interviews than GF too.

I'm worried about Kingdom and Rainbow, they better pull their act together, because without them there just won't be any amusing tossplayers except reach.

I love how XellOs took a step down, swallowing his pride like that. I think being one of the hyeongs on the team and stepping down like that sets a good example and atmosphere for the CJ Entus team. s2s2s2 XellOs

How can Sync be a problem? Dude doesn't even talk (that much).
