Hey, Scarlett! Longtime silent fan here. I have a suggestion.
Why don't you take time off? I read an article yesterday about a sailor who struggled with boredom after being on the sea for the better part of six years. He took a year off to work on his boat and have some fun inland. At some point, he started itching for the water again, and when he set sail, his passion for it was completely refreshed.
Even the things we love can become monotonous. Why don't you take a few months (or longer) off after this tournament and then see how you feel? Get a change of scenery, go do things that are outside of your comfort zone. You might come back to LotV blazing, or you might find that the disconnect was a necessary step towards moving on. Either way, this would take the pressure off of you to feel like you have to know what you're supposed to do right now, and if you did happen to discover a renewed passion for the game, you wouldn't have to do that silly "coming back from retirement" thing that so many players do.
In the meantime, good luck in the qualifiers! There are so many people just like me that you may never hear from, but we're rooting you on just the same. Thanks for keeping the game alive for us.

so ive been thinking a lot about whattodo; which is why i havent posted here since that tweet !
ive lost most of my interest in sc2 (maybe lotv will be different); which is why my results havent been great lately; ive thought about quitting for awhile now, but i guess there is another option
I probably wont be practicing that much anymore, so either I will retire, or I could keep playing 'part-time'; as in play each WCS and maybe some random online tournament occasionaly, but without much practice, or I could stop playing completely..
I guess it's up to you guys, cause I can keep playing in the occasional tournament even if I mostly stop playing, if you'd still want to watch my games despite that.. Let me know I guess
ok, Scarlett definitely confirmed coolest progamer ever. who else asks fans for feedback before deciding what to do :O
ill think about this and write my two cents

I personally never expected any results, just good games. But good games are result of practice and the want to win, so I'm not sure what occasionally trying to continue will accomplish but initial cheers and post disappointment.
You should do whatever you want to do, and I mean this in a way that you should think about and jump into the scary sea and go for whatever you desire and grab it by both hands. Enjoy journeys and be passionate about what you're doing along the way.

Hi Scarlett
I hope you keep on playing, if not 100% competitive, at least WCS and the occasional stream=)
And of course we would very much like to have you back for Homestory cup=) It should be enjoyable for you at least=)
Who knows... With the current change to the WCS America region rooster, you will probably qualify for blizzcon based on that and HSC alone!!

Hey Scarlett,
I could speak volumes on this, but I think it's better to get our thoughts to you now, so I'll try to sum up:
You need to do what's right for you. If you ask us, of course we want you to stay. We want to see as much of you in Starcraft for as long as possible. Your play and your interactions with everyone in the scene are consistently some of the best things that happen in our community. Considering the recent structural changes in WCS, I think your best games and best results are yet to come... but even if not, it wouldn't change how we feel.
Thank you for asking us to weigh in!

I'll keep watching you for sure! Do whatever you have to do. <3

The pessimistic realist in me says it'll be a first or second round exit, but I hope she goes all the way to the global finals in the end. Good luck.

Sounds to me like you've got other plans, and as much as it's sad to see you go, I don't think anyone will be all that happy if you let SC2 confine you. What is anyone, you or the fans, really getting out of your half-heartedly entering a handful of tournaments every year? Committing to something new can be pretty terrifying, but it's often the right thing to do. And whatever you choose, if you feel like coming back full-time to LotV, it seems like plenty of folks will be here to welcome you back

I'm at some conference in a galaxy far far away from my computer and twitch, but I'm tuning in with my heart. Have fun demolishing them Sasha!

Again, I don't see the harm in Scarlett sticking around the scene casually if it's still fun for her. She can pop in every WCS, smash some nerds and maybe win a few thousand dollars, and still have fun competing without enduring the daily grind of ladder practice, which she can always ramp up if she happens to make a deep run in a tournament. That way fans will get to see her every now and then, and she'll perhaps be able to keep her Acer sponsorship as well.
