He actually took a game against soO with his Sky Terran.

Well, not that shocking I guess? soO is probably the best lair tech Zerg of all time but late game just ain't his thing.

Thanks for the tip, going to check it out.

Guess it's not too impressive doing it against a soO but hopefully it's a trend. But I don't really get the build. I mean usually the problem of sky terran should be to get through the mid game safely and transition to the ultimate composition. But it seems that this composition struggles quite a bit against late game zerg. So what's the goal :|

Well according to TY it's a good build on King's Cove and very strong against swarm hosts. I think it can do better the more he does it since that would improve his execution and then he could probably take more games with it.

Now I watched the game vs soO, and I can see how it is strong against SH, but if Zerg goes into corruptors much earlier I don't really see how terran can win on even supply. Corruptors just wreck BCs too hard with infestor/viper support. Well, guess we'll see if he can make it truly work.

Well, what do you know. We do get to see TY before the next Code S season. Makes a lot of sense that he's going to HSC to show off his newly improved English skills. He should be second best Korean on the couch, hope he does it without translator

Also, since it is not a premier tournament one can hope that he does a completely TY-esque playstyle.

No, he's doing this on the side. He still wants to win GSL and all that. He already took over for JYP at least once during the BJ Destruction Match tournament recently. So he's already been able to work on the chemistry with his co-casters a bit.

Qualified for GSL today with wins over Bomber and Rogue. Seems aight.

By the way I think we should address the elephant in the room now though. Korea has never been represented before, and I feel like TY should be invited to the next caster tournament because of this.

It's been great to see his matches today. He's really playing his own style again. Lots of multitasking, some neat and surprising tactical moves, trying to take it to the late game. He has a few miscontrols etc here and there but I think he always has this when he focuses so much on the other aspects of the game.

Plus he is clearly very happy to be able to speak directly to the fans and other casters in English, it's really great to see.

I think he also actually got the best bracket half for himself on the way to the winners final he could have. TvT is ezpz

, Lambo is Lambo and Stats isn't nearly as good vs Terran as he is against the other races.

This is getting too late for me so I'm going to have to watch the vod for the finals tomorrow. But it has been really great seeing TY playing again (feels like it has been ages), seeing that he is back in form, and even better to see him playing his own style again in all matchups. So many interesting games, so much interesting stuff he does. The fact that he's so good at English now and clearly very happy about it just makes it even better!

He did better than I expected. Before the tournament and even during. Didn't think he'd make the finals, didn't think he'd take 4 games off of Serral across 2 matches (I was expecting 0-3 in winners final and 1-4 in grand finals), he even got actually close to taking the entire thing.

Now I can tell myself that he would have won HSC if they played all 7 maps

It's so great to see TY back in form. Going toe to toe with the best players in the world, he's looking really strong. He has to keep it up to make Blizzcon though.

Feels like he's really motivated to do even better as a player now that there's doubts about him after becoming a caster. Hope he can keep up the good form, maybe get into GSL vs the World this year (he's doing a lot for his popularity this year imo) although I doubt it, and really hope he can still make Blizzcon. Blizzcon without TY is just not right.
