No, he's just advertising his Youtube channel.

Also I have my doubts he'll try his hardest in the Alpha X CD tournament a day before GSL.

And all that to take down the world champion, the near-unbeatable arch nemesis. I mean, I feel like a kid swimming in candy or something. I guess now we know why TY played those online tourneys, he wanted to make Dark thing he was out of shape ![]()

PartinG says protons is like artistry but it's TY who's the real Da Vinci here. Already looking forward to rewatching. Please do drop the FPV vod if you see it. Otherwise I'll try to find it later.

PartinG is the kind of Protoss that TY has often struggled against. Hyper aggresive, likes low tier units, looks for the minor things the meta and the maps that can be heavily abused, and is highly micro focused. He used to be TY's nemesis before he retired, but after coming back he has lost to TY in most matches. But he also hasn't looked so strong until now. The question is also how much TY can use the knowledge he gained from the games PartinG played against Maru. These strategies obviously rely heavily on execution, they are going to be hard to defend no matter what. Still, taking better care of observers would help, and I wonder if TY can devise som builds to counter blink-stalker. But there is also the possibility that PartinG plays much more straight up games like we saw in the group stage. To me it seems like a very open match that could go either way. Would not be surprised to see it go to game 7, as is often the case in TY's high-stakes matches.

But I think it's a great point re dictating the pace. This also comes down to how well he can prepare a series in theory, and if his moves pay off he has so much of an upper hand that he can just execute what he planned, and the opponent looks hapless. But if it doesn't work then he does seem to get flustered some times. But hopefully today he's preparing for some chaos also, and it's not like he's bad at playing the weird games as long as he keeps his head cool.

In regards to the builds I would have liked to see, I was actually hoping to see either a hidden fourth like he has done once or twice recently (which reminds me of an old Flash build) or the quick battlecruiser build like the one against Harstem in the TSL, but I think they weren't going to happen unless Parting was playing with some very un-Parting like openers. I doubt he would have prepared either of those. I didn't like his mech against Harstem as it was very conservative and he bled a lot of units. This ghost-tank build seemed to be a more stable late game. I know Parting threw away half of his army in game 6, but TY had a 30 army lead and momentum at that moment. I don't think Artosis/Tasteless gave Parting enough credit for his blink stalker opening. It gave him a very solid middle game and if he had have co-ordinated his army better during his mid-game timing it might have been a different story. TY did a great job of clawing his way back and showed a combination of better unit control and management of the map. His vision was excellent and I loved the diligence with building multiple sensory towers. I sometimes wonder why Terrans often still leave blind spots in late games. Overall, I couldn't have cared less how he won in the end, as long as he got through, especially with how sharp Parting's blink stalkers looked and all the times over the years he has struggled against Protoss openers. Game 1&2 were fantastic. 3 was great decisive counter aggression with a bit of luck. That's two series in a row where TY has looked superior strategically. He deserved any luck he got tonight, due to making a lot of good choices in this area and also because of some of the times unfortunate things have gone against him in the past. I still think of that game vs. Zest a couple of years ago where he just had his army out of position and lost his expo, then attacked in desperation and that was it, or game 7 vs Maru in his recent final where he let Maru win in probably the only way he could after an excellent defence in the early game. In the past years, he has looked most strategically impressive (on a consistent basis) in TvT, so I'm hopeful he has good preparation that he brings to the finals. I hope he also mixes it up again. When he doesn't play conservatively each game he really makes it hard on his opponents. I'm super excited and impressed by his preparation again. That's why he's my stand out favourite and always has his own unique style.
