You know for the last 6 months or so I kinda knew he was getting mentaly exhausted with sc2 and my biggest fear every morning when I joined tl.net was to see a thread about his retirement. When LotV came out and he started practicing and even participating in a tournament I was so relieved that he decided to continue with it.
Now this came out of nowhere really and I dont understand why he decided to retire a few weeks after lotv came out and not before it like he mentioned he was gonna do in his interview.

Well I can only hope some day when I join tl.net I will see a thread about Flash returning to sc2!! Wouldnt that be the sickest of all things?

Yep, the constant fear, relief and heartbreak... that's how it was for me as well

But he said he has intentions to become a coach. So the day he announces his return I'm gonna start planning my trip to Korea ^.^

Same here, every time he crashed out in RO16 2-1 in the final match he would look so crushed and I'd be worried for a while that he would call it a day.

Can't fault him though, he's been doing it a long time, he surely deserves to take a break and change it up.

Well, I was thinking more so of TY because he's the only one where I've never had a clue about his rank on ladder at all. But sure, Stats offracing Terran sounds good to me.

Flash laddered his way back to rank 2 on KR GM.

After he announced his retirement, and now that TBLS is effectively dead (since, let's face it, it's fair to say that Jaedong lost his competitive drive after Blizzcon 2013), I was about to go back to lurking TL as I've done since the early days of BW but this is giving me hope that it's not all over (likely false hope).
He might be doing it for fun or he might have given his account to someone else as people have suggested.

Well, it's not unreasonable to assume it's a team mate. I looked a bit into the match history, definitely used some builds TY used at Sandisk and Dreamhack (though that doesn't mean much when it's team mates) and winrates are 66% TvP, 69% TvT and 63% TvZ.

it has been posted in Reddit and PengWin said that in Korea it's a pretty normal thing for progamers to switch their accounts around. I guess it's pretty much another progamer using his account now, like TY since I think TY and Flash are pretty close.

I can live with TY being the successor of Flash in sc2. Although I believe that lotv fits Flash's style a lot better than TY's.

Could the recent WCS changes be one of the reasons Flash decided to retire? He may have wanted to take it easier from now on and travel a lot to foreign tournaments for his last seasons as a progamer but with the current restrictions he is locked out of any foreign tournaments. Maybe that is what explains his indecision and that he waited untill the very last moment even after the lotv launch.
If this is the case, a big f.u. to those behind the format change ;P
