That is a reason for people not to ask her about it, not a reason to not talk about it. His reaction followed you explaining Transgenerism 101 to the umpteenth google-impaired person to ask what it means. A much better situation would be if everyone educated themselves about the topic, instead of treating it like it is transgender peoples responsibility to explain it to them when they encounter them, but we don't live in that world either. We live in a world where people are wilfully ignornat of the issue, taught to be disgusted and offended by it, and poisined with misinformation. We can only solve those problems by talking about it.

Not only among girls, but she is also part of the younger gamers in general who are making their name within the scene. Gamers such as Illusion, Pokebunny etc. Granted she is the oldest of all of them but she still is a young outsider trying to make a name for herself.
With BW pros and amateur gamers coming in, 2012 will be a very interesting year.

It's mainly because she is an outsider who owned pros at IPL, not really because of her situation. At least that is why I am drawn to her. Underdogs are awesome. Everyone loves underdogs.

Meh anyone else upset at the fact her accomplishments get dismissed as tokenism despite the fact that she had the most impressive tournament of an amateur and would have a hugely active fanclub if she was a cis-man =/ minus all the transphobic bigots and passive aggressive jealousy.

This is the scarlett fanclub. Not the transgenderism forum. We should not talk about transgenderism here, just about scarlett. Understand the purpose of a fan club!
Edit: Talking about it isn't the way to fix it. Especially not when you are confirming the ideas of heteronormativity, as you are. The only way to accept transgenderism is to make it so that it isn't an issue worth talking about. When you start making a huge deal about the fact that this player is transgendered, you subscribe back into the notion of heteronormativity. You have to ignore the fact that she's transgendered, and just agree that she's good at starcraft and accept her into the lexicon of teh status quo

Read some of his posts in this thread, lolspoon's not at all transphobic, he went as far as repeatedly telling a troll to go fuck himself for making fun of Scarlett's condition. He just is sick of people continually asking stupid questions when everything has been explained a million times here and elsewhere.
As someone else said, this is a fanclub, not a place to discuss trans issues. I agree that it's an important thing to talk about, but somewhere else, not here.
