EG announces addition of Park “JYP” Jin Young who will make his team debut at HomeStoryCup IV in Germany beginning on Jan. 5 2012.
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA. – December 30th, 2011. – Today Evil Geniuses (EG), North America’s premier professional gaming team and a world leader in e-Sports, is proud to welcome South Korea native Park “JYP” Jin Young who will represent the StarCraft II team in 2012 in GSL Code-S and international competitions.
A former teammate of current EG member Lee “PuMa” Ho Joon at Team SCV Life, JYP recently secured a spot in Code-S for Season 1 of GSL 2012. Next week, he will suit up in the EG blue as he departs for Germany to compete at HomeStoryCup IV against some of toughest competition outside of Korea.
Renowned for his strength against Protoss and Zerg players, he boasts a near 70% win percentage against each of those respective races. He most notably defeated HerO, July, and Luvsic during his GSL Up & Down matches.
“I’m really happy to be joining EG, whom I consider the number one foreign team. I would like to use this great opportunity to show good results and I hope both the Korean fans and the foreign fans would cheer me on,” Park remarked.
“We’re happy to be able to offer JYP the opportunity to not only compete alongside his longtime practice partner and friend PuMa, but also to travel and showcase his talent around the globe,” said Alex Garfield, CEO of Evil Geniuses.

PPL are being dicks right now. JYP is translating what they're saying through google translate. But he can't tell if they're trolling or not. A lot of ppl are saying stupid things cause they know he's gonna translate it to understand what they're saying.....

Hoping on the bandwagon, I'm not ashamed to admit it. I'm an EG fan, have been looking for a Korean Protoss to like, and I think PvZ is awesome, and PvT is terrible. JYP, your a perfect fit! Sign me up plz.

I must have forgotten this with all the news lately. And looking at the left colum, EGJYP does look like EGYPT!
Sign me in. been fan of his play since TSL times. Sad that he choose EG as team, but nevertheless love his PvZ play, best PvZ . Hope he will win this tournament!
A few weeks ago I spent like 10 posts arguing with some guy for not including JYP in his top 10 Protoss players on the basis of his weak PvT. So I'm glad JYP proved that he, like some other people on that guy's list, can also beat up foreigner Terrans. ^_^

He casted the games played between Hero and Haypro and it must be on day 1. (Mc fan here. Like JYP's pvp and wish him luck in GSL. Pretty hard group for him.)

I'm pretty nervous about his games against sC. Given JYP's abysmal PvT sC could really exit him quickly as he is very fond of early agression and such. =_=

JYP has been living in the slayers house, practicising alongside the Slayers' Terrans. I'm sure he has improved greatly!
GG, JYP keeps his code A dreams alive. After winning game 1 in dominating fashion he loses game 2 to hydra/nydus. Then as hes about to lose game 3 Life basically gives the game away and JYP capitalizes on Life's fatal mistake and wins game 3.
Yeah it's always sad when friends have to play each other in elimination games. Hopefully HerO will do well and they won't end up in the same groups again.

does someone knows what's going on with JYP in mlg? He got some walkovers and then got walked over. Isn't he there or didn't he got to the match at the right time?

Awesome run by JYP coming up short against Leenock in the finals of WEM. Impressive run on his way to the grand finals though, taking out SaSe, MKP, and aLive.

Jyp is one of those underrated player, who can actually stand and give a good game to the best of Kespa, I know we will see more of him, and def more tourney wins in the future. Code A is just the beginning

JYP just lost his grandmother within the past few days . Someone on Reddit translated a bunch of his recent tweets.
"His mother told him that his grandmother might pass away soon, so he went to the hospital but couldn't stay by her side till the end because he had to prepare for the qualifiers. He wanted to qualify and thank her and pay his respects in the interview, but he fell in the finals. Rather than feeling sad or angry, he feels sorry to parents and his family for making them hide the fact that his grandmother passed away yesterday from him so that he wouldn't lose focus while preparing for the qualifiers. He says he was never a good grandson and he feels sorry that he couldn't even be with her in her final moments. She was really ill lately and it made him sad to see her in so much pain so he believes she's gone to a better place. He could have hidden this fact and probably should have, but he wanted the people around him and the fans that support him to know about his grandmother who was so proud about his career as a progamer. Thank you."
