Extended series is good but in the case of disqualification its not so great.
A tournament is about finding out who is the better player and if two players 2-0 eachother the second person moves on with the tournament while the first player is eliminated despite being even in wins. That doesn't make sense, thus the best of 7 format for repeats. Otherwise don't have loser's brackets.
In the case of someone who wants to play against someone they look up to or respect or whatever, taking advantage of this is perfectly fine, it was on white-ra to show up on time, but intentionally leveling the score is very manly.

According to http://www.teamliquid.net/blogs/viewblog.php?topic_id=249493 the DQ was kind of BS, so I see this as more about righting the DQ than fixing extended series.

Yeah he was late beyond the grace period. Sorry but those are the rules. There not even MLG specific rules. GSL has them too, as does many many other tournaments.
But yeah, its not about extended series.
When White-ra is right fucking there and a ref is like "nah man he can't play you" that's irritating.
