Hey EG fanclub! ^^

Ok, so my knowledge of the club is a bit limited and i figure this to be a good place to learn.

I like to talk as though i know everything. On the topic of EG, there are many things to say. One of the facts i've grabbed out of my ass based on a very brief overview is that EG has never fostered a talent.

What leads me to say this is a look at EG's roster. Starcraft = picked up Idra and are now looking to recruit Koreans, keep a lot of players on the roster who play well but don't exactly go from a nobody to a somebody. Streetfighter = picks up Jwong, other players on the roster don't exactly blossom. CS 1.6 = have always had a potential to be the definitive NA team but the roster never stays together long enough and the players don't really exceed their individual potential while in EG.

This post could be read as a troll, but it's not intended to be one. I'm genuinely curious to learn some examples of players who've actually grown during their time in EG.

"Fostering talent" isn't all that common in Starcraft. The people who are going to be big are usually pretty obvious. You can even look at Korea for this. People knew Flash was eventually going to destroy, Baby was known to be an absolute beast at 14, even in the foreign market Tyler and IdrA were always comparative beasts, even before venturing to Korea. That's not to say that people like HuK don't come along and break the mold, but if you look back on the history of foreigners (that I know of) it's pretty clear that such a vast improvement is the exception not the rule.

In the FPS arena it tends to be a little different, but for some reason in RTS it doesn't, probably due to the myriad of ways you can develop holes in such a multifaceted game. Again, not to say there aren't cases of raising up talent, just that it's not all that common. A good thing to remember, especially for foreign (and especially more USA filled teams like EG) is that the player base hasn't been what it is now, we very well may see more teams foster talent, but chances are more likely that that part of the players growth will happen *before* being officially sponsored. I'm willing to be that there are talents right now being fostered on quite a few teams but it's behind the scenes in closed off practice games, not on the official team, if that makes sense.

tl;dr: The "growing up" part of a players career typically happens behind the scene and earns them sponsorship in the SC world and typically not something that occurs after signing.

It wasn't Demuslim's fault actually, from what I saw it looked like the guy running for FXO tripped and then caught Demuslim. :/ Hope it's nothing serious.
