I talked to major a few weeks ago. Where he lives, his internet isn't good enough to stream and play without lag so hopefully he'll move in the US or get some better internet. MAJOR FIGHTING! P.S Sign me up
As a Mexican, im not a huge fan of him (as our representative, and as a person), but as a player no one can deny he has sick skillz!, gratz to Major for beign able to live up to "his" standards, and get into the pool play!.
I was admittedly a little bit annoyed at his BM vs incontrol today, but it was far outweighed by my appreciation for his incredible play, and the fact that he speaks his mind freely as opposed to kissing ass. Keepin' it real with SixjaxMajor.

What, you mean because he's BM on occasion? C'mon, has that ever really prohibited a players popularity? Unless the player is actually bad, No, it hasn't. Prime example is IdrA. I would say Combat-Ex is a good example of where the player is widely disliked for BM, and not really notable.
He showed some AMAZING games today, truly fantastic play by him. I think MLG can easily make stars out of relatively low profile players. Naniwa for example still was widely known for being cheesy and BM back when he won MLG dallas. Dallas really changed that image, and people started to respect him, realizing he'd become an entirely new player and personality. I think if Major wins this MLG (he has some stiff competition, like morrow and the koreans) people will give him the credit that - based on todays games - he deserves.

I don't remember him saying that
I remember him saying something like he doesn't like to talk a lot ingame and only thing he needs to say is gg (when JP try to instigate by asking him if he had anything to say to incontrol)

Yeah, like the other guy said that isn't group play vs Axslav. So far he has beaten TLO and Incontrol in his group but lost to Haypro and Machine. He has to play losira still. Seems like TvZ is his weakest match up

This guy is the same guy no one would want to talk to irl because hes just a big ball of nerdy and awkwardness molded into one. He clearly has no social experience as seen from his two interviews.
And then he gets up... and puts on his shoe.
However with that said of course hes welcome here! This is where nerdy and awkwardness thrives! Go go silly nerds!

As you post on a gaming website about a person you've never met.
Major is a pretty good player though, impressed with his multitask.
Just imagine when this kid is out of school and can do pro gaming full time. He's already such a gosu and by far the most talented <18 year old foreigner in SC2. Major fighting!
i figured he'd be some asshole kid based on his online persona but holy shit I'm loving this guy on lan. His personality is very funny and hes been playing great. gg major.
The database can't have 2 players with the same default ID, so unless Juan changes his name to a non-BW progamer's ID, his default name is stuck at "Princess" with the BW progamer Princess having a default ID of "Alone" (one of his akas).

Ah well I wanted Juan to go farther. He had a VERY GOOD showing though. Hoping to see more of his games in other tournaments because his macro style and his multi pronged attacks are so fun to watch.

Well, straight from his teammate's mouth. Hopefully people will realize he's not bm like they did with Naniwa.
I first became aware of Major through his friendship with Spanishiwa... thought he played really well from watching him on Spanishiwa's stream and I am so happy to see him perform so well at this MLG. Major you really have some talent!! And clearly you are passionate about performing well at starcraft, and this combined with your dedication is going to bring you far. Really enjoy watching your interviews as well. Keep performing well and I look forward to following your progress!
Any guy that shows lack of sportsmanship, respect or personality doesn't get my "Sign me up" stamp.
I was way impressed by his multitasking, unit control and cutting edge strategies (in par with the Korean metagame). However, the moment he dropped manner E-MULEs on his first match against iNcontrol, he lost all of my respect and admiration. Much like any other pro-gamer (or any sports player for that matter), stuff like manner MULEs or CCs, /dance, leaving with no "gg" should get players not invited for the next tournaments. That's just my opinion.
Also he shown to have a weak TvZ, at least judging from the results in MLG (0-3 in TvZ series). His TvP is pretty good though.

Are u sure u have been watching Stracraft II? Take today's GSL 1st round as example. MKP did drop 2 mules and build 3 CC on his opponents face. Also I still remember in GSTL DongRaeGu kill MC's nexus twice in 10 mins and dance twice in MC's base. I feel so sry that our Major hurt your kids iNcontrol's feeling. I'm deeply sorrrrrry.

The fact that I enjoy Starcraft II doesn't make me blindfold to the lack of respect and sportsmanship that (unfortunately) many players have chosen to showcase. It's not about being Major himself. Guys like IdrA, MC, DongRaeGo are some of the best players in the world and it's a pleasure to watch them play, but there are attitudes that are just unnecessary and hurting for E-Sports in general.
In this case, Major had a chance to make a name for himself as a respectable player and he did. Not soo much as a respectable competitor on the other hand.

this discussion about mules is just silly... it's part of the drama of the game that you are watching... people win and lose and if there is a bit of showboating and good natured banter that just adds to the drama. From what I have seen about Major he pays a lot of respect to the KR scene. For example his different names are tributes to different Broodwar players. The mule dropping is a bit of fun and a tribute to some of the KR terrans and in fact shows the respect Major has for the KR scene. It adds to the drama of a game and is a stylistic flourish. I like it.
I also can't really believe people are taking the mule thing so seriously in the first place. I think it is just a couple of posters who are getting way too uptight about it.
Definitely a big fan after watching his drop play at MLG Columbus! Seems like a really talented, modest guy - can we get him into the next season of NASL?
EDIT: And really, all this crap about dropping mules and dancing marines is such a joke. How many Korean Terrans don't drop mules when they win? It seems like it happens damn near every game. Does he talk shit about people in the post-match interviews like Idra? No, he's polite and respectful, which is exactly how he should comport himself.

So by your logic, MKP, IMMVP, ST_Bomber should never get invited to tourneys because they drop manner mules? Have fun at your tournaments!
SOOOO what happened after is that MC finished his game before Losira's second game started so Losira was using MC's keyboard during this time. I also ran into Kennigit and I told him the story and I was like "I'm sure there has to be someone here with a QSENN keyboard that Losira could use...." and Kennigit was like "yeah there has to be" and he was completely and utterly right -- he actually ran into GosiTerran who apparently just got the QSENN keyboard today, who agreed to let Losira use it for the remainder of the tournament! I actually didn't know GosiTerran was SixJax.Major who played with LosirA later since I thought his name was SixJax.Memories or something like that so LosirA didnt know he was playing against the person who lent him the keyboard later. But thanks a lot, GosiTerran, for being a great sport and letting esports happen by lending LosirA your keyboard

Hmmm, I knew this! I always has the feeling that U must be such a bad ass
It's almost as quite funny for me to see the trolls on TL bashing u as Idra fans defending Idra.
Don't sign me up, I came back to my hotel room on Saturday night to find him sleeping in my bed.. It took 2 of the SixJax guys and myself to flip him off of the mattress :p
But in all honesty, sign me up for this. I think he showed that he may troll a LOT but he's a damn good EG slayer.
That game single-handedly made me a big-time GosI[Terran] fan. I watched a LOT of his matches, especially those of him vs. the eStro team. Unfortunately, this all happened as SC2 was in pre-beta phase and I stopped hearing about GosI[Terran]. I asked artosis what had happened to him on twitter, but artosis didn't reply.
I hope I see you soon at GSL!! Will always be a big fan! Sigue siendo el mejor!
And to OP, I would like to be signed up to the fanclub. I really like Sixjax's lineup along with Skew. So sign me up please! I'm looking forward to his games.

Even though his stream isnt the best quality and i dont play Terran it doesnt stop me watching his stream every time it goes live. His multitasking is amazing. His drops are amazing. This guys has some really good builds which keep me watching in amazment. Keep up the good work dude!
Best stream I've seen yet. (Because IdrA doesn't play Terran anymore) Sick constant multitasking and nice amount of good stolen builds from top Korean progamers.
Bad thing I've perceived is his high amount of idle workers throughout the games. He should use the SC2 feature of the idle worker hotkey.
yea guys lets try to keep his fan club to encouraging juan as a player and as a professional. encouragement should probably be praise, thanks, both, or one of the two tied with some constructive criticism.
juan youre a great player and every time i play you on ladder i learn a lot. i know money is tight and you've been practicing real hard to improve and to get results from different tournaments. i just encourage you to do it in a tactful way so that you dont step on too many toes in your journey to the top. you have my info yo hope to see you maybe at anaheim

he did beat TeriusPrime (korean) in a recent zotac cup finals, so altho ladder is somewhat trivial I think he is working his way up to standing toe-to-toe with korean players.
Sign me up! Everything that matters in the end are the individual players skill! And this guy deserves so much more attention than these low skill high personality types like inControl, TLO, Destiny etc. Haters gonna hate!

he was insanely good on ladder even the last season he had an impressive record, someone even opened a thread wondering who he was
Saw sixjaxTerran play an amazing macro game vs. SlayersDragon. He managed to take the win with great positioning, multitasking, and overall great macro. On the stats tab, Terran had made 150 scvs during the span of the game. Give this guy a chance in korea and he WILL do some very sick sick stuff in GSL.
I think Major took a game off Puma on ladder, if my match history sniping serves me right. This is me assuming InControl didn't just win about 25 ladder games in a row as Terran, dropping just one to Major. Probably Puma practicing?
Would be pretty impressed if that were the case :o

He has been playin with koreans a lot lately, and he really wants to go to korea. He has some friends in ProjectS so my guess is that he is in contact with some koreans teams.
Also I really think major can do a great performance at blizzcon, my guess is that a lot depends on it.
I guess Major got pissed about the lack of comunication and the fact they didnt send any players to last MLG, I cant see Artosis dropping him, he really loves the guy play.

Considering he was kicked from Sixjax for basically being unprofessional, I really really doubt he'll have an easy time finding a new team (also because he has a history of team hopping).
Well, i'm a big major fan anyway so GLGL to him and I hope OP picks up on it and renames the fanclub soon ^_^
Crazy he got kicked, crazy as well that nobody has made a thread on it yet, I would but I can't make them look professional so I just don't make threads lol. Well then I guess he will just have to win Blizzcon to fund his trip to Korea! <3
And no one needs Sixjax for anything, their money is tainted with blood, sweat and tears >:O

Dragon isn't a top-level player in terms of koreans. Sorry.
He was pretty good. Almost beat Nestea in GSL season 3. then idk what happen to him
Might Sixjax be an example of what Jason Lake warned us about? People getting into the scene for money instead of love of gaming?
I would find it incredibly sad if Major was lied to by Sixjax, but then I have to think about whether Artosis would be involved with an organization like that.
Unfortunately, there is not enough publicly available information to determine where the blame lies.

It's season 8 now. He can't qualify for Code A.
How do you know? He hasn't tried again.
yes he did at the last qualifier and he got knocked at the first round

He works, and doesn't live at the gaming house (well didn't not 100 percent sure now) because of work. If you can't put in the time, I doubt you will have a good shot at taking games off ppl who do.

He said before that he has to work and wouldn't go. We'll see what he can do once he moves to the SlayerS house.

Well, i'm a big major fan anyway so GLGL to him and I hope OP picks up on it and renames the fanclub soon ^_^
top 5 international elo tells me he won't have a hard time finding a team
Redeem yourself in the Blizzcon 2011 please, I believe in you, I believe in Mexicana. Latin America fighting. (same goes to Fenix) both of you guys are the gifted and chosen for a reason. Fight on!
I've always liked Major, and hearing the stories about him from Broodwar on State of the Game makes me a fan and puts thing in new perspective. I'm pretty sure he was the only mexican to play in ~10 WCG USA qualifiers, and he did it under a girls name; that explains the root princess/kitty names. Also, joining the SEA tournament seems like something he would just do. He's not a bad player because of it, he's just samwise gamgee going to a secret meeting he's not invited to. It wouldn't be the first time he played in tournament he wasn't allowed in. Major wants to compete. =) Major ~fighting!!!

which SotGs do they tell stories about him? Id really want to see but they're so long and for the most part I'm not interested in the majority :/
EGIdra: "I like Major. He's one of the only respectable terrans."
I also like ya. I've seen so many games from you against my favs, like Sheth, Destiny, etc, etc, and you always make the games so interesting, and they always have to focus so much on the game they can't really talk during everything.
I think you can go wayyyyy far. Like, you could take DH Valencia if you were among the players there.
I think that was a mistake to include team name in the fanclubs header, people tend to change teams. On the other hand major fanclub might sound a bit decieving.
I think he'll be on his way to Korea tomorrow morning. On his latest stream it shows him playing vs Fenix on the Korean ladder and he tells him his flight leaves the day after tomorrow in the morning. Not sure, though.

I wouldn't really call that a short term concern, I'd rather he stayed in Korea for quite a few months and train and try to get to Code A rather than fly off to foreign tourneys.
45-60 games a day is actually insane... Assuming 15 min average per game that is at least 10 hours a day of actual game time which is actually ridiculous since he said he also spends a good amount of time watching over players shoulders. I'm sure he watches major tournaments as well so that's at least 13-14 hours of Starcraft every single day that's definitely the most impressive schedule I've heard of.

I love people with dedication like that. Can't wait to see him try to qualify for Code A.
He seems like the sort of guy who can last over there. Someone who really loves the game and can get lost in it. Not saying that they are similar, but from what I understand that is how IdrA was able to last so long over there, too. Not someone who is going over there for some sort of vacation or something magical, but to play fucking Starcraft ALL the time. With no delusions about A) How much you're going to lose and B) How much time you actually have to play.
Also, no delusions about how much you're going to improve! GL HF
This guy seems to fit into a Korean pro house more then most other foreigners I feel. I really hope he stays in Korea a long time. Go Juan, you are my favorite terran after Thorzain:D:D GosiTerran Fighting!
Yeah Korea is definitely the place for him. He has so much dedication, he just fits in so well to the pro house mass practice type thing. Loved episode 2, keep it up. Hope to see him in TSL competing in those ordinary pants in the GSTL, as well as Code A ASAP!!
Juan, if u see this, I can say ur definitely getting a lot better. Do not doubt urself and be confident about urself in the tournament. Your unit control is a lot better now. You can win anyone if you believe in yourself.
Does anyone know whether or not MajOr is returning to Korea after Blizzcon? Lastshadow posted in another thread that MajOr is no longer in Korea and implied that he isn't going back...anyone have more info?

i'm curious about this as well. the foreigners in korea thread shows that he ended his stay in korea, but that might just be because of blizzcon..
i will be heading back to korea sometime soon i dont know yet when, the reason for that is im dealing with personal stuff in mexico. but i will be back sometime soon to stay for long time.

I'm really glad you're going to be able to go back to Korea again soon. I know you'll show us amazing play. Juan terran fighting!
I started watching Major's stream last night, holy shit. This guy blew me away. He practically never scrolls, his mouse control is just so spot on, the way he navigates around is just so smoothe, and his boxes are on par with DRG's boxes. Mechanically he is an absolute wizard. I think I'm just going to adbandon all other streams and just watch his stream and vods simply to watch arguably the best mechanical terran player outside korea.
Major just don´t care about this qualifier, it´s like taking cookies from a handicapped child who has the opposite of kleptomania.
He´s playing this with his right foot while reading the newest avantgarde russian literature. 2-2? Well that´s just him being nice and making it interesting for us.
Ipp from RageQuitTV has been calling Major the best foreign Terran for some time now. I thought he was crazy because Major hasn't had any tournament results (or really been playing in any tournaments recently, to my knowledge). Maybe he wasn't so crazy. Great job today Major!
Hope you find a team Juan! Cannot believe that people are not willing to accept you in a team simply because of your past, but now you seem very reformed for the better.
Well, 1st day of WCS Mexico is over. No matter who wins tomorrow the next 4 players are qualified for the 2012 Battle.net North American Championship
- Major - Maker - JimRising - Zapo
The 2 remaining spots haven't been determined yet, but the contenders are Spot 1 : Winner of match 56 between IsurusDark vs isurusCharm Spot 2 : Winner of match 57 between MvP vs TGSCloud

OK so I've been given OP of the thread. I just gave it a big overhaul, I wanna play with the format a little more, and I still need to add in people to the fanclub, but I've added his achievement, took away all the shit that used to be in the OP, I'll continue updating for WCS and TSL4, if anyone has something you want in there, just post and I'll add it!

awesome to see that this fanclub will finally get some of the care and attention it deserves
ROOTMajOr! I'll include the interview and new in the OP
There's no direct link as it's an update on their blog but I included the announcement interview in the "interviews" section. Grats MajOr! I won't make a SC2 thread on it as I'm sure Catz will soon.
Not sure why I've never posted this here. This is me playing with Juan before he came to Sc2 on Sudden Attack. Sick 1v3 save, everyone thought he was a hacker hence the downvotes xD.
MajOr currently owning up The Gauntlet, 4-0 and going up against TSL_Ragnarok on Daybreak, I'll update the OP with all of the recent interviews of him when I get home from class tomorrow.
Great play today Juan! So clutch for ROOT in the EGMC against Puma. Glad to see you playing at the level you can in such a high pressure situation. ROOTMajor fighting!

Major "I don't get paid." Cloud "You don't get paid srsly... You could actually get a good salary' Chaman "Yea from anywhere else." Major "I don't care, I'm with friends."
Rough WCS but Major actually played really well, he was just up against some of the best players in the entire tournament. Don't give up Major! You are young and talented, just keeping working hard!
Major advances today over Ian to face ViOlet in WCS NA, winner advances back into Premier league! Will update the OP when we get a date confirmed for the match to air.
Annnnnnd with that Juan is back in Premier. Lot of high level competition already qualified so he certainly has to keep working hard. Hopefully for him he'll fall into a decent RO32 group this time ^^
Fucking great games in WCS all the sets were very fun to watch, I just want to chip in that if there is any problems with funding for a trip to the states for the premier league AM, I'd happily throw in some money to a kickstarter or some such crowd funding site for the trip.
Maj0r fiiiiiiiiiighting!
Just wish we could see more proleague for you Juan! Always watch team8 vods just in case!

Was cheering for Major, always liked his playstile before it became mainstream. I think he could've won the whole tournament if he managed to take series against neeb. Hope this tournament results won't demotivate him (well as for me I think its very impressive result, considering neeb won the whole thing eventually), he is a rly hardworking player and it defenitely starts to pay of.
I like how Special is building up momentum really aggressively, but that game escalated quickly. Special still won, but it was too close. Without some mistakes, Special could've done that really clean. I think if he gets his multitasking a bit better, he could be unstoppable. Really rooting for him atm.
Also I am very sorry but in my honest opinion "Special" sounds way too common/tryhard, despite the word's intention lol. "Major" sounds really awesome, and I think it fits him so much better, and as his signature nickname that made him known worldwide but thats just me.
I am SO hyped to play terran after seeing him play. Gotta get my computer back in august and I'll kill it on #bronzeladder.
I can really see him taking blizzcon. If he's having a good couple days, and is able to execute to his maximum - I think he's got what it takes. Juanito fighting!!!
i was very impressed with his play. his strategy, macro and multitasking was top-notch! his micro was sometimes very good too. but i feel like his splitting against aoe is his weakness. against zerg and toss he showed some medicore engagements. but through his strengthes he could pull of the victories. if he can improve his micro he could beat anyone!
