Can someone explain how he can win all ZvTs with nothing but lings? It seems you'd have seriousss problems with things like Hellions or even just carefully executed pushes with a reasonable number of tanks to kill lings en masse (not to mention things like Banshees)

Hellions got nerfed hard, he does fast upgrades and defends while getting a lot of expansions with very little gas. He has spores and queens for banshees.

dude, you need to go to Korea, you won't learn much more on the EU server
or at least try to play on a Korean account and test out the latency

He goes for very fast upgrades (hive around the 11mn mark) and masses them off 6+ hatcheries and often as many queens.
He stops all drops with them and just drowns the terran under glings whenever he moves out, pinning him to 2-3 bases max. Either the terran dies when he tries to move out, losing his army and then his natural, either he just runs out of ressources because he can't expand.
Imo it's not that the strat is awesome or lings that crazy good, Stephano just has better macro and makes it works, if you watch his IPL Qualifier games he doesn't play ZvT like that. But who knows^^

He use alot of queens and good spine placement

I love stephano I think hes a fantastic player, but I need to rant for a second.
WTF WAS THAT SERIES VS RYUNG?!?!?
RYUNG, one of the best players in the world and Stephano has a good lead on him into the late game on 3 out of four games! And out of those three Stephano only wins 1! ONE fucking game, no imbalance, stephano is crushing him economically but then decides to practically commit suicide multiple times! And that last game? JESUS CHRIST! Stephanos battle control and macro are AMAZING! But that game was so full of terrible decisions that I am actually upset after watching a game.
I am sorry, I think stephano is a great player and it hurts me to see him do so bad. Usually I think he surpasses dimaga for best zerg in europe. But that series... damn it all.
