beating Leenock is certainly rare and respectable these days, but cmon its just a ZvZ, and the next series could easily swing in Leenock`s favour.

Still impressed of DRG`s performance at Blizzard Cup, people wrote him off, but he proves the doubters wrong and shows why he is still one of the very best.

he just beat leenock again in iron squid
that's 4:1 score in favor of DRG.
it's no fluke because of zvz

yea, dont let me start which Zerg dominated this second half of the year now ;-)

we ll end up in some sort of pathetic fanboy war

lets just agree they are both incredible talented players..

nope
this is the church of DRG
you gotta accept him into your heart or else you go to zerg hell.

So DRG will play the 2nd place player from tonight's group (Im hoping for anybody but sniper because I dont want a team kill) and then the winner of that will play Leenock.

Oh and on Wednesday MVP plays Karont3 in IPTL (team MVP is in the easy group with Karont3, liquid and IM. the other group is Startale, FXO, Prime and EG lol)

If DRG gets through this, he will probably face Sniper. Teamkill finals?

But first, Dongraegu has to go through Life. This could be interesting.

So it looks like he plays Life tomorrow (unless I have the date wrong lol) at 18:10 KST, which I think it's the normal GSL time (4:10 eastern)

ZvZ has not always been Lifes worst matchup. I mean, come on. Before his breakout through GSL Season 4 he was the best ZvZ player in Korea.

Anyway, I didn't mean to post here just for that! Sign me up for DRG.

I disagree.
Life lost 0:4 to soulkey in the GSL
He lost to Hyun recently 0:2
lost to violet 0:2 at Blizzcup
his record against leenock is actually 6:8 (both international and korean)
record against sniper is 4:3 counting that 2:1 yesterday.

And he lost to snute at IPL5...yes....snute.

Right now his ZvZ is pretty shabby. His lategame engagements are embarrassing at times.

If you look at his pre-season 5 ZvZ record, it's pretty incredible.

Soulkey is a very defensive ZvZ player who prepared only for Life in the Ro16. During GSL Season 5 Life was uncharacteristically reluctant to go for hatch-first builds in ZvZ.
He's beaten HyuN, lost to HyuN other times. Which tournament was that? HyuN is a top-class ZvZ player as well.
He lost to viOlet, who lost to Sniper, who lost to Life. But yeah those viOlet games were just bad on Life's part. No excuses there.
Leenock is sick good, man!
The Life vs Sniper games were pretty awesome, that's all I'll say here lol.
Snute is a very underrated ZvZ player (it's the matchup that carried him through wcs lol) but Life had that series won before throwing it. Pretty disappointing from Life.

Anyway if you go to Life's TLPD and move the end date back to October 1, his ZvZ is at 75%, which is incredible. I'm not arguing that it was never his worst matchup, but the statement that it was always his worst is simply false, as it was the matchup that brought him to prominency. Right now it's at about 70%. He is going through something of a ZvZ slump but he is still one of the better ZvZ players. It's certainly not his most comfortable matchup at the moment.

Also @TommyP life is at the ST house now because of winter break, haha.

Well as long as we're talking about players in their prime
DRG's ZvZ before july was 82%
Nestea's ZvZ before 2012 is 92%

So whatever, makes no sense to call out stats in that way.

I'm calling life on his flimsy ZvZ.
Soulkey said life's stye is fairly easy to figure out, and I agree with that.
Life does a lot of early game aggression with a slower transition to tech and much lower economy.
Against a player like DRG, he's going to have a hard time, as DRG is the most mechanically gifted of all the zergs right now, hands down.

72, not 82.
And NesTea was pretty damn good at ZvZ in 2011. RIP Nestea's zvz
I agree that Life has lost some of the unpredictability that is a big factor in his games being so fun to watch.
Anyway, I don't want to have this argument in a fanclub I didn't mean to invade or anything. I think we can both agree that we'll be seeing some fun matches tonight!

82%

But with respects to you and life, I've changed "has always been" to "is currently."
Thank you for that fix.
