But... Doesn't Mr T complain about balance all the time?
He did complain about protoss long ago but then he solved the match-up according to himself and he has now a quite sick ZvP win record.
One kinda fun thing was that he was at 10-0, lost a couple of games against protoss, complained some about it, and then proceeded to solve the matchup and went on to get 10-1 in the next 11 games, total of 20-3.
And he has a better record in ZvZ.
Nestea is sickly good, but for some reason he's 0-4 in series against international opponents.
0-4? Not to nit pick but in Korea vs World team league, he beat dimaga (best of 1), then lost to dimaga in the bracket 1-2 which would make his record vs him 2-2, then 1-2 lost to Goody TSL3, although all the koreans save MC did pretty poorly (rather not discuss latency problems but point being he isnt the only one who did poorly)
Unless ur referring to sets and he lost 2 i dont recall
Nestea is someone who always prepares before his opponent. With enough resources, he can defeat anyone. He is the Detective / Professor Zerg after all.
When he faces the foreigners he has no idea what he is facing and usually it is very different from the Korean style. When he knows nothing about his opponent he will lose a few games, that's for sure. But when he gets to know the players more, he dominates and crushes them while solving a rubik's cube with his feet under the table. Just saying!
Oh i dont disagree, its like artosis said, if the tournament conditions are good (i dont mean format but like ample prep time and not to cramped so you dont get tired) nestea will pretty much not lose, i was just wondering waht he was referring to by 0-4 and if i understood correctly, corrected him
I did say 0-4 in series, not 0-4 in scores. According to TLPD he's lost 1-2 to Goody, Dimaga, Hotmail and Ddoro. The Korea vs World team matches didn't count in TLPD.
Just rewatched the vods vs Hongun. His play was so amazing, never seen a Zerg get so many drones so safetly. Question on his spinecrawler play: is this good if Protoss doesn't attack and get a third? I always thought spines relied on your person commiting to the 2 base play, which Hongun did, but could have not done.
Nestea seems to be the only zerg willing to get lots of spinecrawlers in all 3 matchups. In my ladder games, against Zergs that overmake spines, I just play economically and destroy them, so what is Nestea doing differently? I feel like the depth of his amazing play has to be analysed in more depth.

I think the big difference is that he reactively makes spines. If I remember correctly, NesTea threw down his spines in the first game immediately after having scouted hongun's base with an overseer.
The difference between NesTea and the over-safe guys on the ladder is that NesTea is responding to what he sees and simply uses spine crawlers instead of zerglings to be able to stop or delay the push until he sees the benefits of his larger economy. NESTEAAAAAA!!! shits delicious
Sign me up ;D
Reminds me of my friend and I when we had a get-together before the May finals. We spent ages going to every shop trying to find Nestea instead of Lipton.
I think we eventually just bought Lipton and wrote Nestea on it, over the Lipton logo. xD

It's kind of interesting how people (in this case English casters) hated and ranted about NesTea a lot with some rather hard harsh words http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gUycMPRrQoA
But NesTea came back some years later Hw was laughed at but now he dominates and is the best player in the world.
He could have quit and retire to become a coach and not play. but instead he fought back and continued to play the game he loved. Inspiring!
well he did retire and coached for KT for a while but then came back as the zerg god we know and worship. he is still listed as the zerg coach at the KT site, lol they wish.
