Who are these mythical "we". I haven't bet against mvp since his victory over mkp in the world championship finals. Even when he is down and looks broken, I know that he can pull out a win. A smart drop, a good run by, incredible patience, a cheese, a hidden base .. whatever it takes. That is what makes mvp a bonjwa in my eyes - you can never ever count him out.

Not to mention that everytime there is a new innovation in the meta game for terrans, its mvp leading the way. Did you see how he single handedly changed TvZ at IEM? Now everyone does banshee, thor, tank, hellion.

This "we" is the majority of TL in case you haven't noticed. Check the "head" vs "heart" votes for mvp vs rain.

Mvp is the best palyer in sc2 so far and my favorite non kespa player. But I'm getting pretty sick of this bonjwa bullshit when 90% of the people using it don't even understand what the term means.

Call him the king, call him the greatest sc2 player to date. All fine

edit: well apparently there are more votes for mvp in "head" now than before the games. Fucking cheaters voting after the games so they don't look bad lol

Your argument is faulty because you are generalizing based on a selective poll.

Worse there is some weird shit going on with the defense of bonjwa. MVP is the bonjwa because you don't own the term. BW doesn't own the term. Why is that word so precious to you bw fans? MVP isn't just the king, he is the God. And he is the only bonjwa in SC2.

If he wins this final even the general opinion will place him as a bonjwa. And we can all point out how we knew he was a bonjwa even before he won his fourth title.

Oh also MVP is THE bonjwa. Not just a former bonjwa like all the old ones.

haha k w.e you say buddy. I've been an mvp fan since he took a game off flash in 2010. I'm even the first person to sign up for this fanclub. But you're just fucking ridiculous lol. You can call him w.e you want. The korean community decides who becomes a bonjwa anyway, so I guess tastosis will let us know when he actually becomes one. cya later

The way you throw around that title I feel awful for Jaedong. Someone who's accomplished 3x as much as mvp, and still isn't a bonjwa. What a poor fellow =(

Really? Jaedong has won 12 GSLs? Damn thats really impressive.

Yep. Wanna know what's even more impressive? That the majority of TL favored naniwa, parting, and rain to beat mvp. Man this guy sure seems invincible!

it doesent matter if they favoured amateur parting and naniwa when its so false

The way you throw around that title I feel awful for Jaedong. Someone who's accomplished 3x as much as mvp, and still isn't a bonjwa. What a poor fellow =(

Really? Jaedong has won 12 GSLs? Damn thats really impressive.

Yep. Wanna know what's even more impressive? That the majority of TL favored naniwa, parting, and rain to beat mvp. Man this guy sure seems invincible!

edit: well from your history in this thread it seems like you've been trying to fight for mvp's bonjwa status since he won 3 championships (and right before he lost to mma the next season LOL). Keep fighting the good fight bro.

I feel awful having to downplay mvp when he's my favorite gsl player. But god people like you are annoying

Technically Mvp has had that 'aura of dominance' already, during 2011 he was HEAVILY favoured against anyone, and any loss was an upset. Just like BoxeR and NaDa were after their peaks, Mvp has peaked, is still very good, but has left behind that aura of dominance.

The reason Jaedong wasn't a bonjwa was because Flash overshadowed him so much, it had nothing to do with his trophies, if Flash hadn't been playing he'd obviously be a bonjwa.

where as mma topped mvp for a while, then fell off again.

he was never better in any way

Yes he was, around October arguably MMA was the better player. Though that is of course a very short time period.

i guarantee he was never a better player. he was never thef avourite in any match or bigger favourite against any player. people dont randomly increase and decrease in skill

There was 1 day between MMA beating MVP in GSL and MVP winning blizzcon. A VERY short time period indeed.

Hey, you've got to take it when you can get it.

what

Maybe not a better player overall, but in their head to head's he was. And that's what matters most when comparing 2 players

There was 1 day between MMA beating MVP in GSL and MVP winning blizzcon. A VERY short time period indeed.

No it isn't, sorry.

Nice arguement, but MMA is 9-5 vs Mvp historically in the gsl. It doesn't mean mvp is the lesser player, but that mma had mvp's number. It's the same way with mvp having mkp's number.

Taking most recent results into consideration Mvp is FAR better that MMA, also head to head results are not a good comparison of player skill, because you are only comparing one match-up.

Mvp is the better player, MMA has a lot of weaknesses that stem from his stylistic play.

obviously mvp is the better player. This shit stems from that awful bonjwa argument for mvp. You cannot be a bonjwa when someone has your number. Doesn't matter how great you are vs everyone else. If there's one person out there who has your agenda then ur kinda fucked.

Also yes mkp #2 :D

edit: also I enjoy how you're making an argument for mma now when we're talking about his period of dominance back in october 2011. My oh my you got me!

Nowadays, Mvp still stomps MarineKing and Polt, but he has also started beating MMA too. I personally think Mvp is in a class of his own, titled "legendary"

Below him are the flavor of the month Terrans, namely TaeJa at the moment

Then below that are good Terrans who are somewhat consistent: Supernova, MarineKing, Polt, Byun (I would say Byun goes here based on skill, but not results)

Then there are the Terrans who occasionally show flashes of brilliance, owning everyone... but most of the time, they aren't considered near the top: MMA (he used to be in the good Terran tier, but his recent slump is pretty bad so...), Jjakji, Bomber, Gumiho, aLive

Finally, there are the solid, mid-tier Terrans: Heart, Ganzi, Ryung, Keen, sC, TheStC, TOP, Maru, ForGG, Hack, asd, ...

I don't think Taeja is flavor of the month, the hype behind him is flavor of the month " best player in the world " level, but his skill is actually really high and he's won three premier foreign tournaments recently, then ro8 GSL in S2 and S3, ro4 in S4.

mvp is more known for his consistency than his dominance. And if he ever gets declared a bonjwa by the korean netizens, it'll be on similar terms to how nada did it (consistency over many years) rather than how savior or oov did it (raping everyone over a year).

Thing I fear most about this is mvp's neck. Not sure that thing will last him as long as Nada's body did.

..fuck nothing can last as long as Nada's body.

I don't wanna chime in on the rest of the debate as I didn't follow it (and to be honest i don't care) but i find this sentence to be completely false. People are not machine and there is bound to be change in performance and execution, even skill through lack of training and other various physical and psychological factors.

of course i did not say that people are stuck at the skill level they are at

No it isn't, sorry.

Nice arguement, but MMA is 9-5 vs Mvp historically in the gsl. It doesn't mean mvp is the lesser player, but that mma had mvp's number. It's the same way with mvp having mkp's number.

thats not proof of him having mvps number.

MMA's skill level was very high in GSL October, MLG Columbus, Super Tournament, Blizzard Cup...

I think the test of time is the greatest test for someone's skill. Yes, TaeJa has the potential to become a god-tier player too, but we still need to wait in my opinion to see.

Mvp was great in January 2011, he's great in October 2012. That's a pretty good indicator of consistency...

mvp ran over mma in this gsl.

You seem to just be making stuff up now. You are literally denying facts, such as MMA coming out far and away ahead in their head to heads.

Head to head only means so much. MMA beat him a few times, but even when losing to him, MVP was performing exceptionally. And he has maintained it while MMA is nothing now.

Let's just use an english word: God.

He is the most successful sc2 player to date by a WIDE margin. Game over fellows. Get off your seats, stand up, bow and salute the man. Whether you like it or not is irrelevant. The facts stand.

We call him the King. God's not very original. Emperor's been taken, Genius Terrans been taken, Tyrant, Revolutionist, all that's been used. But Mvp is the first person to be called "the king"!

God is pretty original. We know there is only one, and His name is IMMvp.

It's been used before I mean (Flash). Plus my favorite line when cheering for mvp is "all hail the king" haha.

"The King" is even on the frontpage of this fan club! =)
