I think had MVP won MLG and the most recent GSL the fans would have a stronger bonjwa arguement since domination in starcraft translates to first place finishes in all the big tournaments, at least that's what I'm getting from BW fanboys.
Nevertheless, MVP is undeniably the best starcraft 2 player in the world currently. He'll have to finish below someone consistently for that to change, but no-one is consistently a higher finisher than him currently.
So regardless of Blizzard Cup results: congrats MVP. You are, in my eyes, the best player of 2011 in Starcraft 2 hands down.

I predict MVP to come top 4 in blizz cup. He cant win every time

I'm not much of an MVP fan but I hate when people use this argument to say SC2 is "coin-flippy."
MVP has ~70% win-rate overall, Flash has about a 72% win-rate overall. Obviously it's not a perfect comparison as they are facing completely different opponent's (Flash's being of much higher skill for the most part) but still.
Nestea have only 1% lower win-rate and DRG have actually higher win-rate than MVP. Win rates is only part of the equation... DRG hasn't really accomplished anything.
He did well in the GSTL but that's not in the same league as the individual tournaments.

i don't think really valid arguments exist at all in the bonjwa matter. MVP wins 50% or more of the tournaments he enters... i think that sufficed to make a bonjwa in bw (plus all the "succeeding during the dark times of a race, showing new ways blah blah might not all be fitting for him but he certainly is dominating and that's the main thing imo). by any standard he is undoubtedly the best player in sc2, by far. a tier above Nestea. if a sc2 bonjwa would exist, it's certainly him
but people love the bonjwa myth, they love bw history and lore and nostalgia, they love savior, the more competitive scene, etc. it's rather the unwillingness to use the word in terms of starcraft 2 since it's a fairly new game, in most of bw fans/players' mind it's not a worthy successor to brood war and even though i enjoy playing/watching sc2 i think it's a worse game too.
we should make up a funky sounding title for him. like the gjharhwahin of sc2;)

He just beat MC decisively in Blizz Cup, looking very strong at the moment, but one of the casters mentioned he only left Busan last night, meaning he's had no time to practice properly.

MC is so 5 seasons ago. Nice job by MVP! Was impressed with the Observer sniping.

I think you should reread the savior article.

Going Mech against Zerg is just a terrible idea. I hope he's saving his bio play for Stephano.
|
He needs to win every match from now and he should get first in group.
DRG is frightening against T though.

As long as he's not the 4th or 5h, everything is cool. Three will advance.

Mvp just all-in'd HerO and won on Antiga, pretty reasonable tbh, Antiga is heavily Protoss favoured.

Well I didn´t know DRG was playing T...
MVP got this.

MVP shows why mass lings doesnt work!

If DRG and MVP go 3-1, who will be first?

Pretty straightforward today =)
Loved seeing him break out the old 2 rax into 2fac blue flame builds vs Stephano. Such a smart choice and I've not seen that build get much use lately.
Shame he dropped a map to DRG, mech on cross pos TDA really was an odd choice.

DRG has the head 2 head record so he'd be first. Need MC to win for MVP to place #1 (it would also put Stephano through)

Impresive mind game vs Stephano on Shakuras !
