Naniwa has single handedly (with a little bit of help from Soulkey and Dear) managed to save Blizzcon for me.

If he wouldnt have advanced, i would probably only watch the last day, now however... i will be glued to my seat watching this shit.

This was a great read, thanks! I really like his answers in this interview. And I agree with him that just making it to Blizzcon at all is a victory in itself. I love looking at that Ro16 bracket and seeing those 15 KR flags....and then one single foreigner flag. I really hope Nani can relax into this mindset and just play one game at a time. If he's really able to do that, then I think he has what it takes to win the whole thing.

Awesome interview!
Though I'm a bit worried that he showed his best builds. But then again, his micro can decide games, so why not also vs Soulkey.

Best line: "I don’t see this like a job, it’s my passion." - Naniwa about SC2.

I don't know, maybe I'm just fanboying, but what impressed me the most those game was his insane blink micro. It was the best that I've seen. Blink stalkers can be used in all match-ups so maybe, just maybe, that can cause some upsets.
Hyped as f**k for the grand finals either way.

To be honest I didn't think his Blink micro was that great. He was blinking a few at a time and at one point did a couple of offensive blinks that made him take more damage than he should have.

His FORCEFIELDS, however, were gorgeous.

I thought his blink micro was meh but his force fields and his army positioning/awareness were abusive in such a beautiful way

his stalker micro was superb. when he did his all in on game 2 there were 3 stalkers in the reds at the beginning of the fight and he microed them so hard that they survived the whole game.

Yeah, positioning, decisionmaking, and above all those brutal forcefields were all more important imo. Loved the moment towards the end of the last game where he was on high ground fighting on two fronts at the same time, consistently assigning just the right amount of stalkers to each side.

I used to watch and play starcraft quite a lot, I was a fan of the foreign vs korean. I really thought that at some point the foreigners will pull trough and win a GSL and that Europeans will slowly become better than koreans due to numbers.

I obviously gave up on thinking that, I don't watch starcraft and nothing remotely related to starcraft anymore and in the last few months I haven't played at all. However I watched Naniwa's game, and god forbid I will watch the blizzcon final while naniwa's still in it.

I for one do not like a future where the only progamers are koreans and English-speaker players are commentators/caster/"personalities"... etc.
I know that at some point naniwa will quit or simply start lagging behind with practice/motivation/luck.

But up until Naniwa will fade away, which he sadly will in due time, there is that "foreigner hope" that I will keep cheering for although I know the end result will never be what I want it to.
