Great to see Nani doing what he thinks is best for himself. Hope he can come out of training and show good games at the next tourney he attends!

Agree 100% with the decision to focus on practice right now. It's obvious (at least if you read his blog) that he considered things well before deciding, and I'm sure he went with what felt best for him in the long run. I'd rather see a happy Nani in the long run anyway and when he DOES enter a tournament it will go as it goes. No pressure since it's just a fricking game and I'll just be glad to see him play it like the artist he is. So there.

I really like to decision to practice more and hopefully it will pay off in the long run.

Not as suspect as random people in his fan club pretending to know better.

There's nothing wrong with being upset and disappointed that he wont be at a tournament, but it's a bit weird when people complain as if they have some kind of authority over what Naniwa does and knows what he should do better than him

Did a rough, quick translation of his latest blog post. I tried to stay true to his style of writing, so there are plenty of errors in the text (a few of them mine, no doubt). There are plenty of periods I'm pretty sure were supposed to be commas, but it should be readable, anyway.

Sitting here writing on my blog a bit while losing some ladder games everyone's come "Home" now from shanghai to the prac house again! can't remember if I told you about going to the gym in the previous blog. probably. anyway been good at keeping it up I notice that I always get happier in general if I keep up the physical exercise every day after playing so many hours. really think it helps!

As usual I was planning to take some questions from the prevvious post. will try to explain how I think the best I can but maybe not everyone can relate to my answers. but yeah

I'll take an interesting question because I only found one. you could comment more so I will know what you want !

Nice reading! You've gotten into the blogging without problem My question is -> as many know and have said, you are probably the foreigner who understands the game the best. At your top level you can beat absolutely any player in the world. However, you've talked a bit about how your performance can drop when playing against worse players and sometimes you can lose to players you are acctually better than and "should" beat (anyone can have a bad day or something similar, but in general). Are you doing anything to affect the mental part of your game, for example sports psychology?

Answer : Have had many thoughts during my bad tournaments ( and when I play well but still not my absolute best ) about sometimes trying to take the next step which in that case would have been to not carry everything on my own shoulders. but instead just like you say. talk about it with someone who can help me. Looked up some people I was planning to contact before MLG anaheim, But I think I've started to understand more how to think now.

it's always hard to know if you have the right mentality or wrong as I've never had a mentor in e-sports. I sometimes whish I had someone who could guide me when I felt lost. but I don't know of any other top players from sweden who are still playing who had been willing to help me it's sometimes very hard for me to accept help from other people even if I know that they might have something good to say. the person I would have been most interested to have as a mentor would have been "madfrog" as he always seemed to be able to perform well in tournaments. regardless of his shape in practice. at least as far as I could see in SC2

Of course he also had a great wc3 career that I base this on. but anywa.. I've trained myself and I don't think I've been doing too bad in my sc2 career. I'd say that I'm overall just fine with how I've been doing so far, from being a Mediocre wc3 player who played while still in school. to a fulltime sc2 progamer. the leap went surprisingly well . anyway back to the question. It used to be easier for me to face better players before because they play within a more restricted frame, where us "Good" players know what works and what doesn't work. while others constantly try to push the boundaries ( Less skilled players ) and sometimes that can lead to them getting an advantage somewhere that you weren't expecting and so on. but right now it honestly doesn't matter who I face. I play the same regardless so it's nice not having to worry about stuff like that anymore

But to sum things up; So yeah. for almost 2 years I used to think constantly about how to improve my psychology to the game, but the only answer I found was that I put too much pressure on myself for no reason. in the future I will try to just enjoy playing starcraft. and I will at the same time be able to play as usual as well which leads to results that match my level. of course all players will have ups / downs though. since some players are more motivated at certain times and so on, but I am very self-confident in my talent for the game and I belive that regardless who what and when it happens. I will find a way to get back to the top . that, if anything, should be obvious to me as well after these 3 years of pro-gaming

Haha, feels like I've talked a bit too much about this now. but it's been a big problem in my career and I've always thought that everything that has to do with the brain is very interesting so I like to write about it and think as well as hear other people's opinions on the subject.

I will answer a lot more questions in the next blog! Just took a long one now because like I said I thought it was so interesting! write more comments so I can blog easier in the next post!!!! want something to work with so that I don't have to create everything from nothing ! unfortunately no pictures yet as I havn't been in sweden hugs and kisses!
