What happened??

He forfeited the final of a Numericable M-House Cup qualifier, by Millenium, 400€ + free trip in southern France in 2 weeks. He had to play vs Top, EU vs KR = NA, and he refused to play in NA.

Well thats a rather shitty compromise, eu gets over twice the lag to NA servers that korea does first off, and its a european tournament second off, so why are they accommodating korean players like that?

Because it's their tournament and they get to decide the rules.

I have no idea what the lag situation is.

Well the guy you quoted didn't question their authority to make that decision. The question is wether it's the right decision.

it saddens me whenever i try to interact with my real fans that i have to read the shit stupid haters write, can you guys just stop posting and go somewhere else instead? it doesnt give anything good to me or to you. just alot of hatred for no important reason. I just didnt feel like playing on USA in a european tournament when i knew that korea has way better ping on US than i do. its my choice and not yours. Either you agree or you dont. either way you dont have to say it. I just didnt feel like it made any sense. so therefor instead of whining i chose to forfeit. is it better that i play and complain? i dont think so.

You did the right thing here I feel. Its an European tournament no reason why you should put yourself in more disadvantage then you opponent. If Koreans wants to play in a EU tournament they can play from Korea to EU or just not sign up if they don't want to play with lag.

I won't debate on this topic in a fan club. I think you shouldn't either.

Since when being a fan means "treat you as god without having any critic or question"? Your fans are humans you know, they think, they have their own opinions and point of views. And while being your best fans, they can disagree with you from time to time.

Just my 2 cents.

A european tournament? Bullshit. Nobody said it was an european qualifier played on EU server...
And you are speaking about your fans but what do you think that your french fans are thinking right now? They are upset and disappointed. I am upset and disappointed. You was wrong on that point. I can understand that you hate playing with lags but if you had a bit of respect for your french fans, for tourney's administrator, for players that you have beaten, you would have accepted to play cause you should have known the rules before competing.

I think people just really wanted to see you destroy TOP and qualify for the offline part of the event. You were so close and everyone wanted to see you participating in that tournament, since the last tournament held by Millenium in their team house in Marseille was amazing and we just wanted to see you play in it

Anyway, good luck against Tefel tomorrow!

i explained my point of view. I dont play to get peoples support. i play because i love the game, i love the competition .you seem to think i owe something to the players i beat or the tournaments. They dont give me anything unless i win. if the players who i beat dont like it then they should get better and not lose to me. this world is not a charity unless you are an american player ofcourse. then you dont have to be good to get fans and money.

Lol i could not have said it better myself. Keep on being awesome and smack some polish ass tomorrow.

Alltho from my point of view (being one of your most loyal fans) -> Their decision to put you on the NA server was stupid, however 400$ and a free trip to france isnt too bad. Also you would get the chance to show everyone else how much better you are. And i would have another bunch of matches to enjoy. Anyho, im not here to tell you how to act or what decisions to make. But if it was me i would have atleast tried it and perhaps gained alot by it.

To those who are complaining, consider this. It's my impression that Naniwa gets affected a lot when playing conditions aren't optimal. It's possible that he gets affected more than others, and since he's vocal about it as well, he gets lots of criticism thrown his way anytime he's in a tournament with less than optimal settings and he says something about it.

So, listen to what he actually said just now. Better to forfeit than to play and complain. Knowing himself, he decides to avoid another such situation. Of course out of concern for himself, but perhaps also out of concern for his fans as he knows people don't like "whining". So to me right now it just seems that no matter what he does, someone gets offended.

Guys, just relax and realize that we're dealing with a human being here, a normal guy with feelings and motivations and needs just like everyone else. He just happens to be frickin good at Starcraft. Drop your egoistical needs and stop being offended when he for some reason decides not to play in "your" favourite tournament. There will be other chances to see Naniwa play. Or at least there will be as long as we support him like true fans.

Good luck today Naniwa, I hope you get to show your best against Tefel!

For some of us, it's because we're fans that this stuff frustrates us. We want to see you crushing nerd skulls, not forfeiting games. That's all.

Don't worry about that.

Tonight he will play in WCS Challenger EU to get back to Premiere League. Tefel better be prepared!
